So I don't have much spare skrill at the moment, but need a ph meter....

Ah the eternal struggle...

So I was looking at those cheapo yellow meters on ebay. Found one being sent from the states and not Hong Kong or China. Found one for 10.06$ free shipping. Found another 10.99$ with free expedited shipping.

There was a bill me later scam from ****** but they knock Ten bucks off your total. So I did that expedited shipping should cost me .99$...could of cost me .06$.

I know it's not the best but it may work for a run or two, if I am nice to it.

:D:D:D

And after this I never touch bill me later and it's 20% interest rate

Single point calibration with screw. From what I've read the screw is the part that usually goes out.

Your correct. Sorry to say that tester is a piece of junk. I had one and the first thing that happened is the screw fell out,and the lcd kept on flashing no matter what i did.Do yorself a favor and buy a good meter it will cost more but it will be worth it. Check amazon ,they carry quite a few.

For the .99 cents it's better then nothing till I can get a hanna or bluelab :peace:

i used one my first grow with no problems.. i did calibrate before every use and kept some solution in the cap so the probe didnt dry out.. you should be fine with that untill you can afford better:toke:

I still have one of them chepo ones as i can not afford a decent one just yet so its better than none.. I only calibrate mine every 2weeks and it hasnt failed me yet

This is a good post, the mention of PH is daily
I bought a Hanna HI 89128 that cost about £80, accuracy to + - 0.05, but to keep it accurate it needs to be calibrated often with 4.01 & 7.01, stored with HI 70300 and regularly cleaned before calibration in HI 7061, those chemicals ( 25 sachets of each ph) cost as much as the ph meter itself

I do wonder if a cheap ph meter with bottle ph fluid is causing more problems?

I'm guessing with this meter like so many other mass-produced items - quality is hit or miss.
One unit will work fine while another will crap out.
I'm hoping you get a decent one!

exactly... I order those usb plugs you put in the cig lighter...at the store there 15-20 bucks I got six from hong kong for 10 bucks delivered... 2 didnt work out of 6...lol But oh well I got 4 for 10..

But I had a few years ago one of the cheap yellow ones and you MUST keep the probe in solution all the time..its dries out your done, mine had a screw, and it worked.

yeah, IMO cheap is never worth it.... the ONLY thing WORSE than no ph meter.... is one you think is reading right and isnt.... you'll adjust yourself into a horrible nightmare!

I had tomatoes this year so sour you couldnt eat them and when i went to ferment them down to get seed fom them they didnt rot for over a month... extreme low ph condition cuz of a shit meter.

For the .99 cents it's better then nothing till I can get a hanna or bluelab :peace:
Hate to be the bearer of bad news but...
Drop $130 (I had to give up a few habits for a month to do it myself) and get a Hannah 98129

:smokeit:
