teetee re the skyline you got that broken down… it will be the driver inside, it was me that convinced muddy, to put in the skylines, “off the shelf” drivers for the units… that could be bought in uk, and world wide. So when a driver goes out… it is quite easy to replace teetee. the driver model code is on the unit, when you remove it… you may have to solder the red and black output 14swg wires, to the led bank supply wire, soldering aint hard, as you can practice it with a 30w solder iron first teetee ok… watch a few vids your in… you will need a 5mm standard, and a 2.5mm long stem allen key to remove end caps and 100w bank locking cap screws… just slide off the 100w individual banks, off the case railing, 4x on 400w skyline… then unscrew the mains 240v supply side input, to the driver, and the same for the LEDs output lead from the driver… its this end you may need to solder the “new” drivers two output wires to the 4x 100w banks leading wire… you may find it is only one driver for the 4x 100w LED banks, that slide on the casr railing… but might be two… i only worked on the 600w skylines… it rare for any LEDs on the surface mounted plate, to go out. I have only ever had it once, they dont go black as they did in the photons… they just stop lighting up… its allways the driver that goes… if it is surface mounted LEDs on the LED mounting plate, then you wont be able to replace that now… drivers yea, but not the LED side… although its posible to re mount an LED set on the original surface plate, that is on the heatsink teetee… Autoberry

I’ll see if I can be bothered to continue posting, I hate to say it but AFN has lost a little bit of its magic since the changeover.

I am actively recruiting new staff members and assigning work to those that want to help. Our biggest issue right now is manpower and consistency; and those are both being addressed. I have two stellar new staff members that are getting new vendors excited to look into the forum, and I’m going to keep adding staff until I have a team that consistently logs into the site nearly every single day.
No one is pretending the pink elephant in the room doesn’t exist; but we are neither quitters or victims, so we’ll all have to do our part to help keeping this place alive and well!
I want to know specifically what issues you would like addressed.
Other than site engagement being down, which we are actively working to get more traffic to the site, what else is doing it for you?
Hi @Hobbes and @Simply_nuggets sorry but I wasn’t knocking AFN, I was just missing a few grow buddies I had on the old site.
I was vexed at the change before this one because I had loads of reputation points and badges which I ended up losing, but I got over that.
I like the presentation of this site, and I like everyone who’s on it and contributing, don’t get me wrong, and this is the only place I post my grows, both for Bud and shrooms.
I was just being a bit moody!

That is heat damage to the 100w array tee, if it where driver gone, the whole 100w bank would be out. Sadly it’s not the driver, as this is easy replaced, as I did talk muddy into using OF THE SHELF UK AVAILABLE LED DRIVERS and not to make cheap driver you cant replace off shelf, the issue with customer service with the photon189s…
So we can get drivers for the skylines thx fuc, but sadly the 100w led and banks you cannot replace not mudd is gone over the rainbow tee. However, SMD means surface mounted device, ie, an LED tee… smd’s are mounted on the 3mm thick heat sink alluminium board/sheet/plank that’s screws to the vane’ed heatsink on my skyline, your black later models have the driver sat in top out in the open.
Back to the led that have gone on the 100w array. It is posible to re mount new LEDs on the PCB..= Pre Cast Board. I only ever managed to get 6 100w un fitted Led SMD banks off muddy, as to replace them, which I have done myself before, requires mid to high temp (360c) soft soldering the pos and neg 16swg wires to the SMD board, tee. You need special heat sink paste to go between the led mounted SMD board, onto the vaned heatsink.
All that happened with the black mk2 skyline, was the driver was taken out of the case it was in on the mk1s I have, with chunky vaned heatsinks. And the heatsink changed to thinner black type to reduce weight for posting etc.. but this meant hotter running, that blew more led’s tee…
Find a local electronics guy, he may be able to mount new led on the old SMD board… you want 60% (60no) blue spectrum (veg,) cree or bridgelux 5w led, and 40% (40no) red spectrum (flower) leds, 5w led we run at 3w for gest life and spectrum output ok… the driver you got is for that set up, 700mw constant forward power to the 100w SMD 100w led array… your guy will know that from the in situ driver capabilities… tell him you grow indoor orchids tee… all joints have to be soldered to give max surface area for the full 700mw 12v led current to the 100w array…
You might be able to find a good electronics guy to rebuild the 100w array… I have 11x 600w mk1 skylines, just had another driver go, (in the 35c heatwave not so far this summer) so i have only 5 out of 11 working, the rest have one or two drivers gone or i have robbed it for another light that needs a driver.. there are 2x 700mw mw = (milliwatt) drivers in my 600 skylines, at 68 quid each ain’t cheap and main power output lead to array lead gas to be full soak soldered, otherwise the array wont fire up… as not vang on 700mv constant forward current to the 100w array.
Or you will have to risk buying shit leds… you cant get dutch pashion lights sent in to aus…? Ad these are northern lights LEDs, that are not bad… this young lad copied our led spectrum choices, that wherecrefined by grow experimenting… if not you need to ask questions about the array make up 60/40 ? UV and IR led included ? In the 600 skyline, to save cost muddy depleted the UV IR LEDs… so I use a meter long 36w UV led bar light to greatly improve trichome construction and loading… the photons had UV and IR where fitted… the best grows I ever did where under our photon 600w 189s… the spectrum choicexwas translocated into the skyline but Mudd cut the UV IR SMD’s smd=surface mounted light emitting diode devices..
You must of had a temp spike above 38c to burn out the blue spectrum (white) led and the yellow led (orange) led, the flower leds… no UV IR AMD’s on the mk2 iether tee.. use UV 36w side light bars x2 in your cab… greater trichome production is the result in the 15 to 20% more loading tee… I can vouch for that 100%… if you can get this, (Agriton) EM1 soul inoculation solution, and get the agriton zero sulphur molasses to steep the mixture and grow the bacilli and fungi communities that you inoculate the soil with during the grow, the molasses is converted to trichome in greater volume than ever before tee… agriton EM1 is mental effect on terps also… that comes out during the final cure… I am on the chempak no8 for flower now… and is 12% N, which us better in flower… since moving to Gloucester Gloucestershire, the water from the river severn is acidic.. so I am having to raise ph after making up the feed… using bicarbonate of soda… not silicone !
