A lot of people here like the “build-A-soil” brand, or the “coast of maine”

If just doing one get a 10 gallon fabric container, and xl self wicking base, and a bag of Bioflower

Hey welcome to the Autoflower Network @fingerscrossed !

Are you trying to find something locally, or to order online to ship to your door?

With an autoflower, once that tap root hits the bottom of the pot it will most likely start to flower.

Bigger pot = Bigger plant.

As above, so below, as the saying goes.

You don’t NEED to put it in a 10g a 5g, a 1g, heck you could even do it in a solo cup if you were so inclined.

Irrigation strategy > container size.

But if you are going to keep it simple… buy a big pot.

Have you grown autos before? We can help you get setup with a grow journal in our Genetics and Journals section that you can log your progress with!

We have some very helpful individuals on-site; stick with the advice on here and you’ll be growing some monsters.

Are you going for just a water only strategy or do you plan on feeding? Fox farm happy frog will sustain your plants for the first two weeks and then you will have to start feeding around wk3. Coast of Maine Seed starter mix in the top half and Stonington blend in the bottom half of 5-10gal pots is what @Farmer.HatBeard uses and gets away with water only on most grows, some heavy feeders he has to amend during the grow. For simplicity’s sake, I would use Fox Farm Happy Frog soil along with their liquid soil 3part nutrients. Use their feeding guide at half strength starting around wk3 and you will be more than okay, I do recommend at least 5gal fabric pot, 10gal if you can, especially with just one plant! Also are you growing indoors or outdoors? What’s the light source? If it’s like a balcony grow where it’s partly shaded part of the day, then it won’t need to feed as much.

thank you. I’m going to go with bio biz organic light soil mix. probably a 12 litre cloth pot. I’ve got a mars hydro ts 600 100w light, variable. I’m in a 2ft × 2ft wardrobe. does this sound feasible?

Absolutely doable! im currently doing nine plants in 1gal fabric pots in a 2x2x4 tent with 100w led. I’ve done six plants in 3gal pots multiple times, it’s tight, but if you keep on top of airflow and defoliation it’s totally possible to pull a pound out of a 2x2 grow. One plant in a 12l pot with 100w can yield anywhere from 1-5 oz depending on growing style

that is music to my ears kingratt. I’ll keep it to 1 plant for now. but nice to know what can be achieved. thank you.

My soil recipe is as simple as you can get. To every 5 gallons of potting mix ( any will do ) I add:

1 gallon worm castings

1 Gallon compost ( i prefer cow compost )

1 quart Epsoma Garden Tone

Top dress with Garden tone week 5 and week 9. Use one cup each top drssing.

Here’s what my soil is growing right now in 10 gallon pots:
