Outdoor Horizontal grow

These are a pair of Jack Herer and Glue Gelato in 4 gallon fabric pots that I’ve put in milk crates and used a wooden dowel to get them to grow horizontally. Makes them easier to cart around chasing the best sun angle, put them under cover if necessary, and get some bud sites out in the sun that otherwise would be stuck in the canopy. I’m having some calcium issues now so will have to remedy that, otherwise they are healthy and growing well. Kinda hard to tell from the pics but a couple of them have actually deflected the wooden dowel downward at the center of the pots. Amazing plants...

Very cool, gonna try something like this with my next grow,
I'm using milk crates also makes things a lot easier when you need to move em.

we had a pretty strong squall like storm move thru here last nite (SE Virginia). The rain dumped in buckets and the winds were strong aNd swirling around in every direction. The low stature of the plants and the bondage to which I’ve subjected them were awesome in withstanding the pelting. If they’d have been vertical they would have gotten pounded.

I may or may not get any more yield, but the flowers are all in direct sun and should be hard as rocks come harvest time. This is As much about artistic creativity as it is about yield honestly...i‘m just growing for myself so don’t need pounds. A few better profile shots below...

thanks, I’m retired so have lots of time to plan and execute the LST. I am on the glide slope now...leaf tucking, defoliating damaged leaves and feeding are all that’s left...

We had a strong cell of thunderstorms roll thru here starting at around 1500 and lasting a few hours. It was a pelting rain with strong sustained swirling winds.

since I’ve kept the plants low and in the milk crates, I can shelter them under my tarp covered patio table when needed. I don’t mind leaving them out in the rain, but I stash them away when heavier storms roll thru here (SE VA).

the flash overemphasizes the flowers in these shots, but gives a good indication of where the plants are still filling in. I should net some pretty large and tight colas. while I wait for harvest, I’m enjoying some Gelato Auto I finished this month...

Couple shots of the Gelato Auto I grew indoors. I had these laid as flat as I could by using shelf brackets as outriggers and bending branches beyond the perimeter of the airpot. Worked pretty well...got some dense and oddly shaped colas aNd it was an easy trim...
