Do you recommend just drying in the middle of 4x8 tent?
Haha no worries I'm in the same boat at the moment till tomorrow when everything comes. I will have to give it a go and dry them that way. I have bamboo sticks we found to hangem up. The cardboard likes to lose its "perkyness" if you know I mean. But it's cheaper than spending the money on a drying tent ha. Although Amazon and eBay have good multilayered net racks. Can get probably a good pound or two drying at once. That's the next alternative I believe.I do bc I can really regulate everything, environment wise. But I hardly ever have it empty to do it. But I like the total dark it provides, mo bettah than my DIY drying box (a.k.a. a cardboard wardrobe box)![]()
Thank youHey tina, and anyone else who feels like chiming in i currently have a 4x4 tent and use a 600w hps but as temps are rising im planing on getting an led hopefully in the next couple of weeks. I dont want to use any more watts than i already am so that would leave me with the mars 2 1200w, i was wondering how 2 450w reflector series lights would compare in the same space. Would it give more coverage? Or would it have less penetration as it has 3w against the 5w of the mars 2. Any opinions welcome.
Thank you sanquine,Hey sanguine,
Honestly with the countless hours of research I've done in the past few weeks on LEDs. I would say especially with the 5 Watt diodes now in Mars series. You'd be perfectly fine with a single 1200. Or even a single 900. But that's where your budget comes in. I was going to buy two Mars 1600 because I just upgraded my whole setup. I now have a 4x8 tent. Height of 78 in. I had to go with x4 Growstar 450watters(actual use of 300) all for $550. Sorry Tina . When I have more money flowing in. I will be upgrading to x2 Mars II 1600 and keeping my x4 400 Watters to fill in the gaps . But anyone sanguine.... You would be just fine with a single 1200 Mars II if your going with the 900 I would get x2 just to be safe and so you have good enough canopy coverage and canopy penetration. Those are the key things at play here in a 4x4 tent. With how stealthy these LEDs are... The heat will drop bug not as much as the older versions with the 3 Watt diodes. The 5s will give off more lumens. I believe the 1200 gives off 11,000 lumens. And the 1600 does 16,000 lumens. That ball park. Any other info needed ease don't be afraid to PM me for more info or tips with LEDsand thank you Tina!
Give me a couple months and I'll be making a decent size purchase from you guys![]()
Yes Hapa, the 1200w can replace 600w Hps very well.Aloha Sanguine, Ms. Tina, & AFN~
1st thing is: *BOTH lights up and running Ms. Tina so thank you very much for all your help and support!
I just switched from two 600 watt HID's in a 4 x 8, to two Mars II 1200 watt'ers and the most noticeable change has been the heat, or rather lack there of. I live in a HOT climate so if I want to grow in the summer I had to make a change.
Centered on each side I see that I have complete coverage and penetration all the way through, and...
they seem to really love it (i'll post pics later).
I think you'd be happy with a Mars II 1200 for your space and could even go 1600 just in case you ever upgraded to a 5 x 5 or more. I got the 1200's bc I am thinking of upgrading to a 5 x 9 tent so I wanted to be sure I had enough "juice".
I think the 1200 watt'ers use approx. the same true watts as my 600, if I remember correctly (but its a "wake-n-bake" this morning, so I make no promises!). Either way I think you'll be happy with your choice.
Happy growing everyone~

True, the heat will be lesser a lot.Haha you are correct. They would equal your 600s. So he would be well coveted with a 1200. Isn't the heat change amazing???
Lolit's the same temp in there now as it was during the winter, almost.
I have a portable a/c unit in there bc I dry & cure in that room too so it just stays at whatever temp I set.
It's awesome when it all comes together, right?
aloha~
Definitely my man. Here in Colorado it's always so cold and humidity only gets out of wack in certain times of the year. But with the MH/HPS bulbs. A grow room can get awfully hot! And fast. Coolest thing about the LEDs in my opinion is there are no waiting times. You flip a switch and you get instant light spectrum and lux. And the newest models have "veg" "bloom" switches for the light spectrums![]()
you can do that !Do you recommend just drying in the middle of 4x8 tent?
