I don't think there's a history of AFN thread really bear, but from my recollection - this is how things went down :)

There was a thread on Rollitup called "The Art of the Auto" that was i think started by Mossy or Full Duplex. It was a big old thread - no sub forums, just a long 1000 page plus thread for all of your auto needs.

Aunty Mossy was one of the succesfull and cool AF breeders who came out with the Purple Gem that was Awesome!

The Art of the Auto was very popular and there was some pioneering stuff going on there. "Tiering" i think may have come from Full D ... I'm pretty sure he was "Bubblin" the water before most of us that weren't using hydro.

It was around 5 maybe 6 years ago and auto's didn't have the same awareness that they have now. In fact, some people were outright mean about them.

The Art of The Auto became a sweet and sour experience (not in the nice chinese sweet and sour way!) It had great people .. but attracted a lot of trolls, so sifting through for the goodies was a nightmare!!

Aunty Mossy, Uncle Full D and some of the contributors in the thread setup a dedicated Autoflower forum, the good people on the Autoflower thread at RIU all kinda migrated here, leaving the haters behind.

And from there - we've grown into the Autoflowering Force that is AFN! :)

(I think the tread is still going over there --- must be 10,000 pages long by now! ^_^)

Thanks Blue
I had an I had a vision in my head of a bunch of stoned Englishmen sitting around in the local pub drinking Guinness trying to figure out how they were going to introduce auto's to the world without getting arrested . Oh well just another romantic notion .

Spanglish,

I would like for you to please quit posting links and comments about "AFN Cinema;" not only do you not have permission or approval to be using AFN's name, we don't allow or promote piracy on AFN. This is also a potential security risk for members clicking on external links that look like they are approved by AFN (and they are not.)

While I'm on the topic, I noticed you created a YouTube tutorial using AFN's name as well. While your ambition is appreciated, I would ask you please refrain from any more of this activity and not use AFN's name without permission.

If you have any questions, please PM me. Thanks.

Hi everyone,

Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas now showing @ AFNCinema. Have changed upload host as Dailymotion flagged one of my videos on upload, so not to risk the files already there am going to leave them accounts alone. The new host is alot better lets you password your files on upload and gives you 30GB free per account. So i reckon these movies should stay up a while.

The link is the same wont post it here anymore to keep it out of the search engines, anyone who needs it can pm me and i will share it with any active member.

Where The Buffalo Roam now added @ AFNCinema, enjoy bro.

Sure thing i did not realise it would be a problem after a few staff clicked like on the links without saying any different, i will not post anymore or add any more videos to the site, was just a bit of fun and am sorry if i caused a security risk for anyone.

The YouTube tut was for people here and was called AFN Resize Photos to identify it it, i will rename it resize photos now and refrain from making or posting anymore video tutorials here, once again am sorry and did not realise making these tutorials was damaging to the AFN name, this was the last thing intented to do in both cases.

Thanks for the information and wont be happening again.

No worries brother; it's not that it's not appreciated as a nice gesture, you just don't have permission and there are safety/security concerns with it.

Appreciate your understanding!

Thanks,

Good morning Stoners.
Thanks for the history lesson Blue. And thanks to the pioneers who waded through the BS of posers, haters, and trolls to end up with this safe, sane (sometimes), haven. Some of us who survived Usenet never pictured a forum could be so, . . nice.
