hi there,

i have a question about pH correction

my question is: what is the best substance to use for pH correction if its too high?

thing i am trying to get to know by asking this is if I|can use most acidious substances like HCl or H2SO4 or nitric acid or are there only a few if not only one real good substance to use for that... i know i can get ph up with lime but dont really know what i can use to lower it

hope you can helpme with this

greets Belial

Is there some reason you don't want to just use a "PH Down" solution?

I guess a better question would be "What exactly are you trying to control the PH of?". Just your water? The soil itself?

actualy both .. just want to know what substances i can use .. for instance what substanse is that pH-down solution you mention made of? what kinds of acids can i use and what is better not to use ;)

Don't hold me to this..But I read somewhere that Distilled Vinegar well lower the PH..Like I said I've never had that problem..But I need to use the PH up with my nute feedings..

Thanks:peace:

Vinegar works as a one time fix maybe, but def not an ongoing solution, trust me I know!

Thanks for the reply seasick..I just read that somewhere..

cool HD, sometimes the easiest solution does not work out so well in the long run and health of your plant in the future!

I have used vinegar and lemon juice. Organic vinegar does not work as well as lemon juice.

hmmm lemon juice:) ok if that works good then also citric acid wich is extracted from citrus fruits should be ok right?.. maybe even better if its clean acid.. guess id have to make a solution then and only use a drop or 2 on a gallon, should be fine then

thanks for the input all ;)
