hi beautiful people! after a month of gathering knowledge and equipments, i have finally started my first grow, my setup:

- Vision seeds ak49/white widow (autos)
- 4x 3gallon smart pots
- znet6 300w led (made in china)
- grow tent 80cm*80cm*160cm
- compo sana compact mixed with lime (soil, there aint much choice in my area)
- tap water with air pump used for fish tank (ph7)
- a fan (may add filter/outtake in later stage if needed, currently tent door opens 24/7)
- nute made in china with NPK 4/1.5/2.5

seeds poped on 19th, WW1 poped a day later, lights on 24hrs, i am currently 11days in, i havent use any nutes yet gonna wait till at least week3, and i am going to use this one nute only (not gonna use bloom) after i read pop22's post about garden myth and also did some more readings on this topic about bloom nutes.

here is how its look like from outside.

here are the pics just taken while ago, from left to right, AK1/AK2/WW1/WW2.
IMG_0965.jpgIMG_0964.jpgIMG_0966.jpgIMG_0963.jpg

there are a few leaves on WW1 (the biggest 2 leaves) and one leave of AK2 cured on the sides, i really dont think its heat stress since temp has never gone over 84F, and besides those few leaves the plants looks healthy (especially AK1 the leaves are huge like 4" long), i tried to "hand fix" the two leaves of WW1 and after i woke up from sleep it cured more :( does anyone know why and how to fix it if theres a way, really appreciate your help!

thanks for reading, i love this place.

p.s. AKs are supposed to be sativa dominant as opposite of the white widow indica but i dont see any difference from the shape of their leaves, only the AKs grow bigger in size, i wonder why...

Hi Vincent, welcome to AFN! Glad to have you here and glad to see your grow up and running! First of all you might want to try and re upload your 2nd set of pictures because no one really likes having to click a link to see the pictures. Second from the looks of it the curling leaves may be due to slightly hot soil(defintley not anything to worry about) it was probably a tad bit too hot when they were young but now it seems like they can handle it.

Also from what I can tell it looks like you have 3 sativa dominat phenos and 1 indica dominant. The 1st WW looks like it is indica for sure, if you notice on that one the 2nd(or 3rd I cant really see how many sets there are) set of leaves the main blades are shorter and look kind of "chubby" if you will. Even though strains are "supposed" to be indica or sativa there are still varying phenotypes in all strains. You can literally have 2 seeds from the same plant, heck even the same bud, and one will show indica traits and the other will show sativa. It is just how genetics work. I always try and think of it like this, I have 2 sisters and 1 brother, all of them are short as they took after my mom. My dad was over 6' tall so I got the "tall" gene and I am 5'10(not really tall I know but my family is a bunch of little people so I am the tallest in the fam) even though we all have the same parents we got different specific gene combintions.

In my current grow I have an even split of indica and sativa, 3 indies and 3 saties. As you continue to grow you will see that a lot of the descriptions on seed sites are simply for advertising(which makes sense because they want to sell there seeds lol) And the best way to get a feel for how a strain will grow is to look at people who have actually grown them. I personally used Tang to make my decision, after I saw his 300+ gram AutoXtreme I was sold. I tried to find as many different grow journals as I could to see how "stable" a strain is.

I am subbed in on your grow, and if you have any quesitons don't hesitate to ask away here or on my grow journal or even a PM. I am on AFN everyday so I will try and help you the best I can. I hope my long winded rambling helped somewhat lol. Good luck and I am sending super awesome Grow Karma your way my friend :)

thanks Derek, how do i fix the post when i was writing it was showing in pics not attachments....
thanks for the comment and shared knowledge and the sub!

edit* fixed :)

picture of all my girls before watering

its day12, watered them 5days ago, i notice the surrounding area of the center of the plants (around 3inches radius) drys out alot faster compare with normal plastic pots, the center area of the plants are still a bit moist but i gonna water them anyway, i love to (i guess everybody does) water plants (self thinking....5days ago i cant be overwatering haha)

Day13

I notice few new grown leaves cured on the sides but not as bad as before (I raised the light about an inch), are they still getting heat stress? I highly doubted with the temperature not over 83F, I did some more research but there seems no other reason for that to happen, I wonder maybe vision seeds are not so growers friendly? Hmm...anyway the weather is changing dramatically today, from 23c to 16c now and the forecast said its gonna be around 13c on Thursday, so will soon find out if it's really heat stress or not.

gonna start giving nutes (4/1.5/2.5) on next watering, half of what the bottle suggest, probably Thursday/Friday, hope things will be fine.

P.s. Newbie mistake, not filling the medium high enough, the leaves outgrown the pots, I had to fold the sides a bit to "free" the leaves, glad I am not using normal plastic or I am screwed, and I didn't know the leaves are going to be that big compare with other grower's pic plants around same age, will fill the medium as high as possible next grow.

Thanks for stopping by, cheers!

This can't be heat stress....

So my tent temperature has dropped to 77F these 2days and still my white widows are having leave cures....it's not serious but does anyone know why this is happening? Thanks for the help.

day 20

all the plants have shown pistols, been doing leave tucking daily, learnt from youtube hope i am doing it right. took a picture after i watered them (1/2 nute) with the LED off.

the closest 2 are the AKs, the 2 at the back are the WWs, the biggest one (on the left of the back) is actually one day younger, she still has some leave curing even tho the temp is around 75F everyday, but it isnt too serious so i feel like i just "let it be".

Goods looks man! Welcome to AFN, sometime leaf curl can be nutrient related but it seems like they're doing fine :goodluck:

What is ur hunidity. Low humidity causes leaf curl. Get it up over 50 in veg.
