Live Stoner Chat Ned help on cleaning my pipe

DMSO,an organic "solvent"...if you can find it or 91% isopropyl

I was going to suggest colonic irrigation but that's a totally different pipe lol.

:crying:

i always use the salt in 91% rubbing alcohol method. the salt doesnt dissolve in the iso so it helps to scrub away residue as the iso breaks it up. putting it in a heavy duty ziplock makes it easier to agitate. i like the idea of using everclear or 151 in place of the iso, though.

My buddy used to put his pipe in a bowl, fill it with enough iso to cover half the pipe, then cover it with a paper towel. He put this in the microwave for 10-15 seconds at a time. The alcohol has a low boiling point so it won't get super hot but gets hot enough to disolve all the resins. It will literally come out spotless in under a minute with no scrubbing. Try it, you'll be amazed.

Iso gives off combustible fumes. Putting it in the microwave is a very bad idea and your buddy is lucky he didn't burn his house down.

For any of you in the food service industry, try puro caf. It's a nasty chem, but you can rinse your pipe clean after and it'll look new.

Uh that sounds dangerous,

:peace:

I use a medium solution of HCL a 2 second dip in the solution and a 5 minute soak in baking soda. DONT FORGET THE BAKING SODA!
I don't know where you can find HCL in the U.S though

I use 91% iso and kosher sea salt (the big crystals; not that super fine granulated table salt.) The kosher part just makes me feel better inside. I'm kidding. No but seriously. Plastic zip lock to the size of the piece; isopropyl and the sea salt and shake it shake shake shake it like a polaroid picture. The combination of abrasive salt and iso alcohol can take off even the nastiest of stains and resins. Rinse out the piece with hot or cold water from the faucet and repeat if necessary.

You can get isopropyl alcohol almost ANYWHERE (gas stations in the misc aisle or near medicine supplies,) or specifically at Wal-mart for like two dollars (USD.) You can use table salt (99 cent salt shakers) or sea salt (might be $2-3 depending on container/brand.) Plus a ziplock; which if you are a fan of the conveniently sealed on-the-go sandwich; you probably already have these. So realistically around $5 for cleaning supplies that you can find just about anywhere and that work amazing well. Just make sure you rinse all the salt out of the piece; there's nothing like going in for a fresh rip and getting salt mouth.
