total newbie that does not have a green thumb. i have a 2 ft growbox and a little girl in it. i think this is the 5th time i've tried to grow and have never gotten this far...really babying this thing lol.

i'm currently using mercury vapor bulbs, though not by choice. didn't know what bulbs were used when i bought this thing and found out when i went to check. will be getting cfl bulbs in a day or two and a couple of those splitter things so i'll have more light. you can't see, but there's a power bar with 3 E27s. i'm only growing one plant, but figure she could use more light

so far what I see is you should repot that into at least a 1 gallon pot, and hows your PH?. If you use smaller pots for sexing the minimum you would want is 32oz and then you could tier it into a gallon or larger pot..If your thinking what is tiering well here you go......... Right side is tiered left side direct to final pot.



Rough Calculation Guide:

Here's some good info on ph.....
If your runoff pH is higher than your starting pH, use this equation to determine your soil pH:*
Soil pH = Runoff pH + Difference

If your runoff pH is lower than your starting pH, us this equation:
Soil pH = Runoff pH - Difference.

For example, say your the starting pH of your solution before it goes in is 6.5 and the pH of your runoff is 7.0. The difference is +0.5, so using the above equation:
Soil pH = 7.0 + 0.5*
Soil pH = 7.5

If your starting pH is 6.5 and your runoff is 6.0, your difference is -0.5 and using the above equation:
Soil pH = 6.0 - 0.5
Soil pH = 5.5

As far as lighting goes, minimum wattage is 50 watts per square foot 2 X 2= 4Sq' for a total of 200 watts.

thanks all . sorry reply took so long. kid starts school, gets sick, gets me sick....

i switched her over to a one gallon pot. she took to it straight away and is pretty happy.

i read about leaving water standing for a few days to a week or more and have been doing that. have some cfls for flowering, but not having any luck finding 6500k.....sometimes canada sucks lol. on a very tight budget and have to stick with bulbs i can find in stores. i'm also going by what my husband says since he's been looking when shopping.....though he does have a bad habit of not reading things properly and for all i know, he skipped them. haven't had a chance to get out myself
