I live in a med state.

A few days ago, I went online to pay my electric bill. I noticed a "How to lower your usage questionnaire." They cover everything related to household electricity in a question and choice method. No stone is left unturned.

In the the check box for type of lighting the home owner uses was a box to check:: Does your home include "grow lights." It stunned me. I hesitated and then hit "no"---.

Wonder if they follow up with advise on canna lighting and/or suggest using an LED--probably not--:Stones slap:.

Check yours. It was startling. Would be easy to click without thinking about it. :face:

@alan :slap: :five: good heads up to all... I could see sitting around stoned surfing the net, doing that questioner and like you said inadvertently click yes.... Though, I do wonder what they would reccomend if you checked yes? Run you 12/12 during night hours to save money? what strains will give you best yield per sqf to get most out your light?

Thanks yodabuds. That is the truth. They almost got me.

Ask a friend that never grows or smokes weed to try their questionnaire.

Would be interesting to see if you check yes and they then asked what type of grow lights you were using. Maybe if you put HPS they would come back and recommend you switch to CFLs or LEDs to save energy. Who knows, maybe they'll offer a subsidy to encourage you to switch. :smoke:

In our area all electricity is now on digital meters. So, one can look at usage through-out the day online. Their is a pattern when power fluctuates if one is growing or turning off ac at a particular time.

They just switched mine to digital a year or so ago. I don't trust those meters. They have the ability to look at usage and I am damn sure that they can see a 600-1000W spike come one for 12-16 hours then go off very easily. My biggest fear is, are they sharing the info? If L E O wants to it is pretty easy to follow.

It is funny. A vocal minority (mostly older people) took the meter conversion to an agency. They can now opt out, but, it costs more to keep the old timey meter.

a420--check out your energy co's web site. I bet if you register you can track usage. Mine has graphs etc.
