Just goes to show once again who really runs this country.
On the issue of MMJ, it is big pharma and their army of lobbyists on good old K street.
The Federal Gov uses the 10th amendment as toilet paper.
I live in a state where the voters approved the use of MMJ in 1998, and yet the feds are coming in once again and shutting down MMJ dispensaries.
In 2010 the feds gave the landlords whose tenants were running dispensaries out of their rental buildings an 'option', evict those running dispensaries out of their buildings or the feds would use eminent domain laws, and confiscate the buildings. One guy I know owned the building he had is dispensary in, and would not comply with the feds, so every federal agency you can name including DHS raided his establishment (not one county, city, or state law enforcement agency was involved.) They confiscated (stole) absolutely everything in the dispensary.

Honestly I am amazed how far Medical Marijuana has got in the US a country that has demonized Cannabis for so long.
I look at documentaries about MMJ dispensaries in the US and my jaw drops,you guys got it goin on and it makes some of hollands coffee shops look somewhat lacking in comparison.
The DEA are fighting a losing battle and it seems little by little MMJ and legalisation keeps moving forwards in the US.
The people of the US know what they want and it is about time the Federal government realise this.
Having recently read here @ AFN about seeds getting seized by customs, it makes me wonder if the left hand know what the right hand is doing, by stopping seeds coming into the US, it is in no way gonna make the slightest difference to how much weed is being grown in the US, it just the feds flexing thier muscles.
However The US has come a long way and in many ways you have it better than where I live.
I'm in the UK where we make Sativex and yet my government refuse to talk about medical marijuana let alone consider letting anyone vote on the matter.
People who want to buy weed in the uk have to go see a guy or buy of the streets, I've seen total rubbish being sold such as soap bar a low grade hash which has alsorts of fillers and binders in it and there has also been weed with tiny glass beeds stuck to the thc which increase the weight.
The point is Prohibition just makes criminals out of decent ordinary people, whilst the real criminals are the ones lacing our smokables with dangerous additives.
Don't get me wrong though, we also have some fine weed and hash but it all boils down to who you know or if you grow.
However in the UK the police love to fly around in thier helicopters using FLIR to detect people growing, they are constantly buzzin round my city as it is an easier way to to improve thier stats than deal with real crime which doesnt have a heat signature. One of the reasons I went LED.
People of America keep forging on and leading the way forwards against the specter of prohibition and the demon of opression, so that other countries of the world have no choice to sit up and listen.
