Hey everyone, hope you're all well. So I finally got round to starting my grow journal, not a lot to report as of yet but thought I'd get the thread up and running with some info about my grow :)

Grow Space - 80x80x160cm
Light - GN MS0006 (24/0 at first, later switch to 20/4)
Medium - Plagron Terra Light Mix
Nutrients - Plant Magic Range, Oldtimer Organic Grow & Bloom, also have to hand: Bio Wetter, Bio Silicon and B.A.C Organic PK Booster as back up.
Seeds - Northern Lights Blue from Delicious Seeds.
Pots - 15L Airpot x2

Right now I'm just waiting for the soil to dry out a bit more as I gave it a prewater around 11pm last night so it's still too wet/hard for germinating. Tent temp is at 26.3 C and humidity at 39%, is this okay for germination? I will be germinating directly into soil.
If I've missed anything out or if you guys have any questions feel free to give me a shout :) I'll get some picture of the room up asap! Peace :toke:

Everything seems fine other than humidity if you can raise it above 50% that would be alot better for youe seedlings:thumbs: Also by germinating in the soil do you meen just drop the seed in the soil?
Personaly i would germinate the seed then put it in the soil when it has a tap root of about 1/2 inch or so just with it being your first grow i would suggest doing this:thumbs:

Hey Si, thanks for stopping by, I'm going to use the top of a 2L bottle as a small humidity dome for each seedling to boost the humidity, will also turn the fan speed down once theyre in the soil, that should help. I've germinated seeds in the past using the paper towel method, a few comments on the forum have put me off doing so this time (something about the delicacy of the tap root and how the tissue fibers could damage it?) so this time I thought I'd attempt straight into soil, I didnt want to use the paper towel method and the soil not be dry enough by the time the seeds germinated so I'm literally just watching my soil dry right now, been 12 hours since I gave it a full drench, no idea how long I'm gonna be waiting to be honest :P It's all fun and games :)
Take care

Good luck Pal, will be watching this one

Hey Villain thanks for the interest, glad to have you on board :)

Quick noob question for anyone about uploading photos since this is the first forum Ive ever used, when I click attach image I'm told to enter the image URL, does this mean i need to upload it somewhere first rather than post it here directly from my desktop? thanks in advance, peace

Couple of photos for you guys to get an idea of my set up, home grown medicine here I come!:booya:

Hey guys, does anyone know if it's okay to germinate in soil if the top few levels are moist but the rest of the pot is still draining? I'm thinking the rest of the pot will have time to drain whilst the seed is germinating in the upper moist levels, any advice appreciated, don't wana have to wait another day for the pots to be 100% moist and have no harder wet parts lower down before germinating..thanks!

i would wait until tomorrow to drop the seeds in the soil, if the top layer feels a tad dry you could just mist it with a spray bottle, its not good for the seed if the soil is too wet, good luck with your grow, i would suggest using the paper towel method as well, as long as you dont let the tap root get too long you will be fine, good luck with your grow

I agree with Larky, Although many do just germ in the soil, i prefer to do the paper towel thing so i know the tap root is there before planting, That saves a lot of waiting around and i always end up digging around to see if the root has emerged, but i am VERY impatient lol Set up looks good tho - all the best!:bong:

It looks as though my patience has paid off, today I can see the seedlings breaking out of their shel and just barely poking their heads above ground as they start to straighten out :) one is slightly ahead of the other but a few more hours will reveal if they are healthy. I have my light on 24/0 for the heat and humidity right now at 32" away, I'll hopefully be able to post an update later tonight with a few pictures of my babies :) peace
