New grow getting underway thanks to all the hard work from @iampepe

Strain Description: Stargazer F2 – Alien Moonrocks (Purple pheno) x Nova OG 2-8oz + depending on grow style. 85 +/- days from seed to harvest. Purple and green flowers.

Supposed to be a pretty new release so we shall see how it goes!

Dropped into a glass with a little water. It popped out a nice tail in less than 24hrs. I did not get a pic of that as I wanted to get it planted as quickly as possible.

This was day 1 above ground. It stood up quick, no shell stuck on it at all.

Day 7

Hydro halo gifted from the dude that got me started @DCLXVI (if you're still out there)

Day 15! I put the skewer and then the clothes pin since it started leaning over. It's now straight up and not touching.

Ok so that's the first 2 weeks on speedrun. Not real exciting stuff but hey, it's going great so far!

Right on!! I almost picked this up just on the name StagrGazer! The art is pretty cool too lol. Good luck big dig! Im subbed, if you run into any issues reach out. Wishing you the best luck! Couple tips, i never go full strength on nutes without working my way up, to avoid damage and lockouts. But usually find 50% is more than enough, late in flower ill go a little stronger but slowly and carefully, unless i know a strain inside and out, i always take a careful approach to increasing nutrients. What nutrients do you run?

I've logged in a couple times with the express purpose of updating this thread and failed!

Here is an overdue update:

These were taken around day 29/the start of week 5.

I started bending the top over on day 22/23 just after the last update. I tried to follow the way 420autoflower does his incredible scrog method. I might be off on timing/growth/shape etc. but I learn best by doing so, giving it a go and see how things develop.

This is after a week of bending the top down. I went gently with a wire the first few days until I felt like I had as much bend as I could get, then inserted the larger staple as a permanent fix - mostly visible in the third pic.

The plant is a week older at this point. I will try and get this weeks pics taken tomorrow and uploaded. So far so good.

Aight so I missed a couple weeks worth of updates..... erh life was busy.

Day 43-ish. Full on into flowering. I bent the top over and held it down hoping for some side branching. I must not have my grow dialed in very well yet. Plant stayed small and short but I've got some solid looking branches.

This is a week or so back. I've since clipped the yellowed fan leaves off the bottom. I also got a new pH pen and the plant is looking better than these pics suggest. I put some wires to try and pull the side branches out but they just didn't grow very long. I don't know if this is a strain that stays small and compact but finishes fast. The description says 85 days and the website pics look quite a bit taller. I am thinking about starting another seed for comparison.

Still loving the grow and I do like checking the tent everyday just for a peek.

What are you feeding with?

Still the bag of MegaCrop 1part with epsom salt. I'm researching different nute lines at the moment and reading through several grow threads to see what people are using and having good luck with. Currently 3g/gallon MC and 1g/gallon epsom salt. I found pushing the epsom a little bit took out some of the yellowing so maybe Mg was low or bound up by the coco. I haven't got a real good handle on the CEC stuff yet.

The pH pen was one issue. I had a cheapo starter version that did not hold calibration well. I'm looking at EC pens so I can have a better idea of nute strength rather than just relying on the coffee scale. I wasn't sure how involved in growing I was going to get so I kinda cheaped out on stuff but now, dude, I love this.

So better pH pen, ec pen on the docket, and new nute line shortly. Either Jacks 321 or FloraFlex leading choices so far. Ooh! And an RO machine so I can count on my nutes being nutes and not tap crust plus.

I use tap water, i treat it with Pond Start to dechlorinate and dechloriminate. Starting ppm 400+. For nutrients i run fox farm organics soil trio, botanicare silica blast, greenleaf bud explosion and sea-k , mollases and humbolt countys own snow storm ultra . Not all at the same time, but thats everything i use as far as nutrients. I have samples of Megacrop 1part and 2part so when i run out of my fox farms base nutrients i will use one of those until they are gone. Next big purchase will be an under the sink RO system, but that wont be for another year probably. Until then tap water is doing pretty good for me.
