So this may read like an odd sort of question!

When you go to the hydro store or search online the noobs get overwhelmed by the variety of nutes, supplements, myco's etc...
There is one for everything and a lot of them are alike.

What i am wondering is how much of a difference do the supplements actually make?
You see KoolBloom, Heavy Harvest, BioBud and many, many more!

Are these necessary to get a better yield?
And how does one know what would work best for their application?

At the moment i am using only nutes and none of the fancy supplements.
My only additions are Cal-Mag and some SuperThrive.

:smokebuds:I know what you mean with all the varietys to choose from. As long as you use a balanced fert that contains npk and the basic micro nutes you'll be fine.Just go with a higher nitrogen nute during veg growth that has phos and potasium with micro nutes and one that has a higher phos and potassium content during flower thats all you need. The cal mag is also good to keep your PH in line.I use the general organics bio line kit or go box that has every thing you need. Ther is more and more nutes and suppliments with fancy names and ther all basicaly the same and with the increase of grow your own weed everybody wants some of your money.Just keep it simple.

First off welcome aboard. IMO each strain is gonna react different, due to so many factors. I agree with namvet25 to keep it simple, less is more mentality. I personally like what you're doing, just go "easy" especially if they're autos. To answer your questions would only be my personal opinion. Jump over to the new growers section and look & listen over there, some seasoned growers with alot of knowledge on subjects just like this...and get us some pics fer chrissake! Puff, puff, pass

I'll second namvet on the General Hydroponics General Organics (GO BOX.) It runs around $36 but has a pretty good lineup of nutes, it's an all-in-one box, and you can find a PDF file for their instructions for use on their website. Would recommend starting at 1/4 to 1/2 strength of recommended dosage (based on my personal experiences, I nute burned the CRAP out of my plants the first time around.) Once I figured out what the plants liked; the difference between watering with this stuff versus not watering with this stuff is night and day.

I'm not experience with any other nutes; but I follow the old adage; if it aint broke don't fix it.

Argghh...ya got me!! For some reason, I get no pictures (sometimes) just a small icon box. Somehow / somewhere my settings must've gotton changed. Wish I could see them! Any one out there got a clue for me?

Yea same problem here I'll wait a few days till they get there other problems solved
I'm sure they have it worked out in a few...till then..:smokebuds:

Pics work fine for me.
Hope they have reappeared on your side!

I just use Sensi Grow & Sensi Bloom. . I throw in a little epson salt as well. A week before harvest I add a pineapple sugar and molasses mix for carbs and final taste.
