BC’s first KIS

That's so great to hear! We are a super small company of 5 passionate folks. I love that we can bring more science-based information and products to the industry. Folks mainly find us from word of mouth and the Cannabis Cultivation and Science podcast.

Hydro shops made their money on selling overpriced nutrients and new media to growers every cycle. I think the industry needs to change to more sustainable options. I do think there's still room for hydro shops to sell equipment and be a good resource for growers, but the model has definitely changed over the past decade. Personally I think it will turn into more like a traditional garden center model and they can no longer just skate by with bad customer service or shoddy recommendations (not saying that's every hydro shop, they're some awesome ones out there already!).
Hey Tad! :bighug: glad you swung by, it's almost that time again for me as well! Auto soil is cooking, then the photo' batch will be next....
I saw that a smaller Nute Pack is now available, which is perfect - ....Even so, the reg. size one is SUCH a value, I'm on what, my 3rd run using it now?
I still have enough for the photo's, I think... but better safe than sorry!
I sing the Gospels every chance I get my man :d5:

Oh hey, there's a new company I'd really like you to see and read up on, Green Life Biotics. They are here now, some testing already started... very interesting supp's and some fert's too! Their web page is the best place to read up... Have a look and let me/us know what you think!

Also, have a look at Phyter, an anti-fungal bio-agent similar to BotryStop...different organism, but same applications. I tested it last season, so did several others outside, and the conclusion was unanimous = :yay: game changing for some! I found it superior to BotryStop, and without that weird black particulate carrier that it has...
Bryon is the man on this, maybe tag him in @Phyter and have another chat... I'd love to see him carried at your site, and since he's working on a home grower sales thing this year, might be timely?

I'll be testing GLB along with the usual KIS soil runs this year... I'll tag you in when it's all going! :smoking:

Waira, thanks for sharing! I haven't heard of either of those companies, I'll check them out. And you can always pass on my email: tad@kisorganics.com. I love Bioworks but they won't let me sell their products because I'm not big enough of a company. They require like 500K in sales or something crazy every year. Not realistic for my company on just their products. Anyway, maybe I'll give the Phyter product a try, would be great to be able to offer something to folks and I think biostimulants are really the future.

It looks like his site is up! It's under the old name, RotBlock... I've not heard from him yet though, and he needs to get the actual size amounts listed in the options...
The microbe is Clonostachys rosea, which becomes endogenous- ....crowds the other vermin out, out-competes for nute resources as well!

:yoinks:500K!?! pffff.....Hey if BioWorks wants to roll that way, to bad for them... I really appreciated them sending that sample, but the assistant got rather pissy about things when I asked what that black stuff was... It does dissolve mostly, but there was for sure something particulate (not gritty) like very fine ground pepper in size... I sent pics with no attitude, just a simple question, and got a snippy comment and a resend of the directions... I did tell him that I followed them to a T,...... not matter, hard pass on them now anyway!

Embarrassingly packed tent. The Affie x NL tester has no space to stretch.
Water, microbes and sugars only. It’s apparent Cal-Mag will be needed through finish for the longer vegging and larger plants. No ph pens, no EC, no TDS, and all that hassle.
Frosty CMD!!

Update on the tent. Running into the dreaded cal-mag issues, specifically calcium in Witch Doctor….a not so subtle reminder that water only systems work best in a minimum of 5 gallons. 4+ foot girl in 2gallons is not going to finish pretty.

Day 45ish for a couple of the older autos, and a week less for some. Everybody getting supplemental Cal-Mag and a P/K boost to carry them through to finish. Light schedule gets altered to 12/12 next week for the photo in back.

Day 61 for the oldest autos. Day 55 for the youngest, and 2weeks on 12/12
All the autos are water only from here out. No more microbes or sugars
Photoperiod back R will get Cal-Mag and Terp Tea Bloom weekly until finish. She was slated for up potting in fresh KiS amended soil, but I’m lazy.
