Good find, and a I think a decent study, thanks for sharing.
As I expected, no significant advantage to flushing, but also not much downside. One could argue that two weeks of saved nutes might be worthwhile.
However, I am still in the no flush camp because I am not capable of accurately predicting two weeks ahead when a plant will be exactly ready to chop. The study would have been even more interesting if they had examined the consequences of starting a flush too early, because that is the risk that makes me not try to chase the potential savings in nutes.
As to the fact that the study was done by fertilizer company employees, had their employment affected the results, one presumes that they would have biased the message toward proving that flushing would damage the harvest, which they did not as far as I can tell do.
I doubt that the study will persuade many growers to change anything. Us no flushers will still not bother, and the flushers will still figure that saving the nutes is good even if the other "benefits" are not proven.
Different strokes and all that.
