New Grower Gorilla Blue - Advanced Seeds

How’s it going guys, first time doin it since I was a kid - where I had super limited space and didn’t really have a clue! ...managed to grow some of the best I’ve ever smoked though. (Think it helps being you’ve grown it yourself).

So I’ve got a small selection of autoflowers from different banks and Ive decided to do a test run using just one seed (though I may pop another along the way).

I’m a big fan of Gorilla Glue #4 and so have decided to go with the Advanced Seeds Gorilla Blue for something a bit different... though there isn’t much info online(!)

It’ll be the first time using autoflowers and LEDs.

EQUIPMENT:
30L airpot - these look great and seem to be worth the hype
400w LED - unbranded Chinese (it actually says it’s 600w but I don’t think it did in the original description.... so who knows)
80 x 80 x 160 - Cheapo tent
Black orchid extractor / carbon filter

NUTES:
Probably going to go light on the Nutes as it’s already in a potting mix.
Was thinking of definitely using:
Canna Rhizotonic throughout
Canna PK13-14 for a flowering boost.

Otherwise I was thinking of MAYBE using the Biobloom range, but do you guys think I’ll need it??

TRAINING:
I’m thinking of doing nothing with this one and just doing some LST on branches if/when needed.

if anyone has any experience with this strain and which growing style is more effective - LST or au-naturel then let me know! Information online is scant...

I’m super impatient since my days of growing back in the day - and I’ve been checking up (too much) however I was really pleased to see the little lass has broken ground!

She’s just getting some sunlight and as soon as my Rhiz gets her she will be getting that with some RO tap water.

I want to keep it really simple this grow - I used to always rush to try advanced stuff before nailing the basics.

Used to always do the old paper towel technique but for this one I just soaked the seed and dropped it in it’s final 30L pot after 24hours.

OTHER NEWS:
Invested in some - Grape Walker Kush - after seeing the delicious looking stuff being grown on here... it seriously looks one of the frostiest ever!

Quick update - so she’s unfurled, it’s been pretty bright sunshine here so I gave her a few hours outside in the sun.

She seemed to love that and now she’s upright and her first spiky leaves are now out n proud. Since then I’ve had her under the LED... I was worried about it being too strong but she seems to be loving it.

The airpots do wick moisture quick so I’ve been putting in at least 1.5l water a day too... my Nutes are still in transit cos of corona. But it’s ok, I’m sure there’s more than enough in the potting mix for now.

Hope everyone’s cool... gutted to hear we lost a good UK musician ‘Ty’ today...

Hey guys little update...

So I’ve been trying out the tent running at full power... seemed pretty warm in the room after a full 20 hours on - so I’ll have to watch that.

Morning 4 from sprouting...

Gona order some smart plugs and that way have my fans set up to blast it periodically... better than these clunky analogue timers!

Closeup - love the serrated leaves.

Been having about 1.5L of plain water a day - the airpot and the surrounding temp mean it’s not staying super wet long.

At least OVERwatering should be easier to avoid...

Hi guys, promise I won’t be giving DAILY updates haha once the excitement wears off (it’s been a while, still a novelty!)

but she’s chugging along really healthy, and I’m really surprised at how fast she seems to be growing. Can’t recommend airpots enough....

I’ve moved the LED closer, so it’s less than 1m distance - she seems to be loving it, but I am going to keep a careful eye on her.

hope everyone is doing well, run out of stash so have to try find something nice locally....

Got some smoke in for now...

pretty sure I’ve labelled them correctly... haha they weren’t labelled. What I’m calling the Snapple is a dense smoke, almost a cougher in the back of the throat... really nice appley flavour. (Or my mind is making me think so...!)

My Mrs’ verdict:
“What’s that you’re smoking... it stinks!”

some really nice red/purple colours on this bud that I failed to capture... smells really good, slightly airier nugs.
