I'm just finishing up Mephisto's 3 Bears OG and she is a beauty. Picture below.

My next grow will be Mephisto's Orange Diesel however I'm a little concerned about height. My grow tent is 6 feet tall but that gets reduced to about 4 feet of head space after I take into consideration the space needed for the pot. I'm using Autocobs so they need a little room also.

Does anyone have any personal experience growing Mephisto OD and can comment on how tall that plant got for them?

Thanks in advance!

Hey, nice plant @Gramps. Nother senior grower here.

Re. the new strain, I would say just go for it. Top and train, and supercrop later if you have to, but you can make it work one way or another if you are interested in the strain. Worst case you cook a cola or two, but you will still have others. It might help to keep her in a smaller pot, say no larger than 3 gals, maybe even try 2 or so. She will still be able to get impressive, but maybe under a bit more control. Leave lots of lateral space so you can flatten her out.

Mephisto's information is pretty solid on the size as long as you stick to modest pot sizes. If you go hydroponic, autopot, or equivalent you may need to train more...

OTOH, I am new at this, so feel free to ignore me. But me, I would definitely do it in a heartbeat, fun, fun, fun. :goodluck:

Thanks @Olderfart. I'll take your advice....I appreciate your comment on Mephisto's information being pretty solid on the sizes.

Glad to hear it, I expect that you will have a fine grow, and I look forward to seeing how you make out. If you are not already practiced in topping and training, have a look around on AFN, there is lots of information here. I expect that the Orange Diesel will have zero problems with either. FWIW, I top mine above the third or fourth node, and I do it very early, as soon as there is enough stem up there to cut it off above the node. I may be full of beans, but I suspect that the less material removed to accomplish the intended end of redirecting apical dominance, the less stress and lost growth the plant will experience. All the plants I have topped seem to have happily redirected growth in less than 48 hours, and none of them seemed to suffer in any other way than the very brief delay in growth. I didn't top the 24C's in my current grow, but that was because I knew that they would be small. I topped the CQ, and you can see how that turned out. By the way, both of those are Mephisto genetics, and they both came in within the size range suggested by Mephisto.

Good luck with the grow, I think you will enjoy yourself, and there is lots of help here if you need it. :goodluck:
