2 Weeks Into Flowering,...

.... give or take a few days. So far so good, fingers crossed. But I've got some yellowing toward the bottom fan leaves on one plant , I'm aware that plants can and will do this during flowering, but this seems early and the yellowing has progressed fairly quickly this past week.
It's water only soil, and this particular plant is in a smaller container, ran out of 5gal bags, and she ended up being the biggest of course, lol. In your opinion does this look normal, and dont sweat it, or does she need some bloom nutes. It has been suggested I use recharge, and it's on the way(Amazon screwed my order up or it would be here) , will that solve this situation? If it is something that needs solving and it isn't just natural progression?

IT is normal for a few bottom leaves to turn yellow.Iwould remove some of that bottom foliage and small buds that don't get any light and any yellow leaves also.

Help! I just looked in on the plants and noticed this on the far side of the one having the issue. Brown spots and more discoloring. Also, looking at the other plant that is the same strain, even though they don't look identical structure wise, the plant that has an issue is more of a lighter green color than the other plant.
Any ideas would be much appreciated!

From my understanding you get the biggest gains with recharge during veg and not so much during flowering. It's a root developer that enhances your microbel environment. I had similar issues as you, with my water only run also. Roughly around same time. I was told to add some cal mag. Unsure if this is your problem, so please seek other opinions. I will say however, since adding the cal mag. The yellowing stopped increasing so rapidly.


Also if I remember correctly you were using DNC Water only soil? If so I remember contacting the owner Tommy, while I was still researching which soil I wanted to go with. and was told that I might need to add some other nutrients to get her passed the finish line if I was doing autoflowers in small pots.

It's due to the size of your pot. With a water only situation, you can figure roughly 1 gallon container for every month of life. 90 day strain will require a minimum of 3 gallons. Otherwise you'll have to amend with nutrients. Which is exactly how she looks, hungry.

The recharge was recommended to me, not so much to boost flowering, but to increase the microbes in the soil to aid in its utilization and feeding in the soil. Basically if I have it right, it helps even things back out in the soil and let's the plant start feeding right again. That's my undestanding at least.
So the pot is too small. Should I pot her up to a 5gal this far into flower? It might slow her down, but in the long run would it be better? And yes I used DNC soil. And found out after that I might need to amend. So any advice on how best to do that would be appreciated.
Also, I don't have any more dnc soil left, but I have some of this , (pics attached). Now that she's this old, would it be okay to use this soil and not worry about it being too hot? I don't don't want to see this progress as quickly as it has been.

Recharge is great, goes in my pots once a week from germination to cut. Up potting really isn't an option at this point, needs to be prior to flower, this is a job for bottled nutes.

I hate to add another opinion to the mix but we see this quite a bit.. Yes, it is normal for a few leaves to turn yellow late in flower.. But not at week 2 or 3. Its not normal for the problem to spread. I'll tell you what I see and why.. The first set of pics look like classic nitrogen deficiency, but then it progresses... and looks to have magnesium issues as well.. It's like a domino effect.. Once one thing is off, it tilts other things. Cannabis requires specific levels certain things, at specific times. The pics you posted of the bag is the confirmation of the issue I thought might be happening.. the NPK values are .05% across the board. Cannabis is nitrogen hungry in veg and potassium hungry in flower. It wants much less nitrogen in flower And much more potash... .05% just isn't enough.. (That's why I think there is a lock out happening.. Mentioned further down)..Also, the soil is a "slow release" soil. Meaning it slowly releases its nutrients based on the soil conditions/environment. Buuuuut.. You are countering that by adding recharge to the mix. Recharge is packed with microbes that will break down organic matter in the soil and make nutrients available to the plant. (The exact process your soil was designed to slow down).

When most cannanis growers hear the term "water only", they think of hand made custom, living soils or premium cannabis bagged soils. Remember, canna does not feed like a tomato or a rose bush. Adding bottled or dry nutes as it grew may have helped. But it's hard to say because of the slow release factor.

You have a couple of deficiencies on your hands. And at this point I'd say because of the initially low npk values,(we don't know what they are at now), coupled with the recharge, that there is a lock out happening. The normal answer would be to flush and start feedings at a lower rate.. But in your case, flushing a slow release soil can be tricky. I would give that a shot and cut back on the recharge. But the main culprit is the slow release soil.

Thanks for the replys! Prophetiko, super informative, I wanted to add that the soil in the pics is just on the very bottom of the pots. And is what I would use if I transplanted her to a 5gal pot. I was short my WO soil, and $, lol, and just used it on the very bottom. The top 3/4 is a living soil from Detroit Nutrient Company. I haven't had a chance use Recharge, not yet. And the so far, the first 6 weeks was going great, then this last week happened. But I think , like all of y'all have pointed out, one way or another, she's missing something and she just might be plain old hungry? If that's the case how do you recommend feeding her? And transplanting is a no go?I'm attaching a couple pics of a few little brown spots on fans nearer the top that are new. And thanks again for taking the time to help, it's much appreciated!
