New growth discoloration?

Hey guys,

Not sure if I'm making a mountain out of a molehill but slightly concerned about the coloring of the newest set of leaves. At first I thought they just hadn't unfurled completely but not so sure anymore. They seem a tad yellower than the others and veins a quite prominent. (see pics for comparison)


Critical + 2.0 in Happy Frog soil under a 3500k autocob. She's 3wks old tomorrow and will get her first feeding of nutes later today, hoping that helps but any advice or opinion is appreciated.

Probably a minor nutrient deficiency that will probably be sorted out by feeding later today.
My best guess would be Magnesium deficiency. Or maybe Zinc

- badly, long term underfed mate, she's a shadow of what she could or should be,... she's been shorted on basically everything, just enough to crawl along on,... HF is not a rich soil, not even OF is good enough for 3 weeks of nothing... Also, most soils are not complete in nutrient profiles either, often lacking sufficient coverage and balance.... As for soils in general, I'd steer you away from them, despite the inexplicable popularity they are often at the core of problems I see in here, just bad inconsistent quality....
At her age, (an auto I assume?), she won't veg much more, and you'll have a total runt on your hands, so it;'s your call whether to keep her or scrap and star a new plant...
Start nutes sooner, mild dosing at first and ease up from there,... check out MegaCrop for the KISS feeding regime, it's an "all-in-one" dry nutrient,... only thing I'd add in later is a PK booster during bloom,.....
Roots Organic soils are good, and readily available... original is best for auto's,....

Well I'm def not scrapping her, it's my first grow and I was aware things might go awry, always looked at it as a learning experience. I'm just gonna keep on keepin' and see where I end up....

It's definitely small, but I wouldn't scrap it. It needs to be fed, honestly they need to be fed from day one, just not very strong feeding early on. We don't make baby humans fast, we feed them baby food.

Critical tends to run long and get big so there might still be time to grow her out, I don't see any sign of flowering yet.

Grow her out and see what she will do, it will be a good learning experience. You will be rewarded with some bud, just not as much as you could have had.

......responded at your thread Eephus, pardon if this sounded discouraging, not the intent! A fair evaluation of the situation and probable results is something I have to give, all due respect..... Some folks grind it out, others don't... Of those, most who decided to start a new plant were happy they didn't spend another 3-4 weeks on that plant,... other were fine with results regardless, and that's the personal call deal on that.... All I can do is offer honest expectations and assessment, that's what this gig is about....

I totally agree! While I may ditch the plant and not keep spinning my wheels in the mud, others may quickly say I'm going to stick it out and keep this going.

Case in point: I popped a NL-A in which her cotyledons were glued together. I did "surgery" and ended up losing one of the cotyledons so I started to toss her. BUT, I stuck it out and in 11 weeks I harvested her with 3.5 ounces of premium bud. Sometimes its simply a roll of the dice.

A funny starburst set of leaves developed. I kept pampering her...

I kept the faith and she rewarded me
