Hey all. I was just curious if I should start flushing autos in the same way as photos. I have grown alot of outdoor photos but this is my first tent grow as well as my first auto grow. With the photos I generally start to flush when the majority of my trychomes are milky/cloudy. I was wondering if I follow suit with autos? Also I am growing in coco/perlite. Do I have to do anything different because of the medium I am using? Thanks

10-4. Thanks for the input. I'll do some searching on weather or not I'm supposed to flush differently in coco

some say flushing is a myth  as i havnt got a great sense of smell and taste i tend to agree
a coco feed will allways have cal/mag :coffee2: or is a flush just 3x the pot volume for 2 weeks :coffee2: i dont buy into the flushing, but i stop nutes a few days before chop.not quite the same thing, but i see how some could call it a flush,or mini flush.
good luck n keep er lit.
:pighug:

My second outdoor grow I put flushing to the test. I flushed one and didn't flush the other. Honestly I felt the results where night and day. The flushed one was way smoother and tastier than the unflushed one. Mind you back then I was using miracle grow so I'm sure that played some part in it. I also vaporize so I'm looking for the best terpine profile possible. I want good yields out of my girls but I wanna grow that connoisseur weed more than anything else. Lol

I've been watering with organic blackstrap molasses for the last week in coco because I am using distilled water (filtered water previously). I never tasted much difference flushing in soil previously or in coco now. I feel the same way about putting plants in the dark for a couple of days before harvest. Never saw a difference.

What's the scoop on the molasses? Is it supposed to make the bud sweeter? Or does the sugar in the molasses help replace the salts from the nutrients with sweetness?

@Whitetrash I use Unsulphured molasses for food that the bacteria and fungi eat. Then they poop it out and our plants use those exuodates asfeed for themselves. I put the molasses in water and turn on the bubbler for few days and make a tea out of it. I also put manure from my cows in panty hose and add to the bucket and BOOM you have an organic tea to feed your soil which in return will feed your plants. Maybe it sweetens your buds that i don't no!

Just to be clear you give an the molasses during the flush period? Or throughout the whole grow cycle? I'm gonna steer of the poop but the molasses deal intrigues me for sure.

I only grow for myself but I do share a bit with close friends who always give me feed back.
The usual comments always includes that my weed burns clean and smokes smooth. That has shown me my finishing habits are about as good as I can get.
For years I've used biobizz lite mix as the medium, biobizz nutes throughout flower, stopping nutes when trics begin to cloud, only water then so i guess that kinda counts as flush.
I have used blackstrap molasses during feedings in the past but never proved any advantage in quantity or quality so I haven't used it for a while but I did use it every feeding. If you have some, you'll use it and perhaps see some difference I didnt.
A proper dry and cure has been the most significant thing you can do for smokability and potency aside from harvest timing.
