Ice is here....some are reporting 7" on smaller lakes...i am holding off for the bigger lakes...couple more weeks to go, and we are out of here!!
Walleye are the preferred fish we target...well depending on the lake...some lakes we go for big whitefish, some its panfish(crappie, and some its various trout species (brookies, lakers, rainbow, splake)
The lake we will be going to first will be walleye mostly...usually catch around a dozen myself every day...not many huge ones though, but there is good action for 16-18" fish, along with some pig lake trout(one-two a day in the 36"+ class) and the odd burbot, whitefish and pike.
Oh for sure bud...i live in an area that people come from far and wide to fish...pretty awesome to have so many amazing lakes not too far!! The real good onces are a drive though...in a few weeks we'll be driving 9 hours to my friends camp. 10 mile snowmobile ride to the camp from the parking spot.
