Dreaded Budrot - advice please

:toke: -- mate, you're outdoors, in Africa? I'm shocked have the bug population hasn't mowed her down already! So, is she moveable at all, even at night especially? Anything you can do do get her out of the high RH%, and

I am indeed! Haha, the bugs haven't touched this lady - in a way that has been devastating- little nibbles here and there naturally! Very pleased with her resilience in that way, the bugs really hurt my critical 2.0 autos! Unfortunately I cannot move her at night, this is a guerilla grow and I had to bury the pot due to lack of opportunity to water the lady! :(

keep air movement on her as much as possible,... I realize where you are, options are highly limited,... ditto for products-.... odd, for a local bred strain to show such lack of mold resistance,.. was it developed indoors maybe? Usually Sativa's show strong resistance to mold, particularly anything with tropical Sativa genetics,...
Best you can do is treat the mold like gangrene,... snip away and remove whole budlets infected, and look at the stems carefully,.. if this is botrytis, it travels up the stems into the buds, fucking them up from the inside out which makes most treatments pretty much useless,... when I fight this, I use fine tip scissors, alcohol to clean between every cut,.. forceps to grasp, tug, pick away bits,.. even take what looks OK but is likely infected internally already,.. it's pure grief, I know! :cuss: ....

I wish you could get Optic Foliar Transport and ATAK , that's what I use after clearing away the mess,.. the Cu nails the mold, Transport helps carry it deeper into the tissues, and the Cu will get metabolized soon as well like any other micronutrient,... anything else leaves residues :wall:.... You can use a fine tip hobby paint brush dipped into alcohol and dabbed onto the open tissues to momentarily sterlize the surface, and maybe seal it some from the dessication effect,... let the Sunlight hit it squarely as well if you can,.....it's a daily fight mate, scope, snip, scope snip.... again, if she can be moved indoors at night with air movement on her, it'll help a lot,... :goodluck: :wiz:

One day, when Its legal, I plan on being in a positive to be able to import all of these lovely products, but sticking to organic as much as I can!

So, unfortunately, I read all these posts except the first two after I cut most of her down (Cut her on thursday).

I took off all the fan leaves so I could have a better view inside, used a popsickle stick to pry open the buds (If one hit mold I discarded it) - then I just completely removed the whole bud off the branch - even If it had the tiniest bit of mold. I managed to use alcohol swabs used for wounds to clean scissors inbetween....Wasnt good enough with my hands though...

Then i separated any branch that had had mold from those that didnt have any... I then hung to whole branches upside down in a ventilated room till tonight, and will do a fine trim tomorrow and final inspection. I'll post more pics tomorrow and some after this post.

Will any of this stuff be usable? Surely I would be able to see if the mold has spread>or is it not worth the risk with spores?

I wanted to say big thank you to you all for your input, and invaluable information! I am taking notes, so thank you for turning this disaster into a good learning experience for me. I really appreciate that a lot...this is an amazing community! One day I shall be wise enough to be able to contribute a little more! Peace out and Positive thoughts only guys!

May i be wrong, but wasn't it clear that you grow outdoors?

I am sorry for assuming you were indoors. But some more information on the bucket dip is easy and can be done almost anywhere. You can use plain water! it is especially useful for removing mold spores and insect dropping from buds. I like to add couple teaspoons of baking soda, it will help the water retain debris and spores and is a very mild abrasive, mild enough to knock off microscopic debris, but not coarse enough to damage trichomes. I only use a small amount, and always do a second rinse to get any remaining baking soda out.

Good Luck!

I am in the great outdoors here in Africa! Man is is beautiful but harsh...The bug population has been kept at bay by this beautiful lady, except for the odd nibble here n there! Unlike my autoflowering critical 2.0 ladies, they got absolutely mowed when they were younger!!! The bugs though I had brought a wonderful imported meal for them hahaha...bastards!

Unfortunately she is guerilla, plant among bamboo, so I had cleared as much as I could to increase airflow and did a slight defol! But I actually ended up harvesting her before I saw your post!

I will, one day, be able to import such products! I have plans and savings account, and when there is a will there is a way ;)

Thank you so much for this advice, I will sure be implementing it in the future! If i had had access daily, I would have been better off. However after three days the mold had spread to about 6 different places... I was brutal with my discarding of buds and branches....damn near broke me heart!!!!

Thanks for the positive response mate, appreciated! Positive energy and thoughts your way good Doctor!

Thank you once again for your wise advices!!! And no worries about the indoor thing, so so so many people grow indoors here, I have been confused myself before!

With regards to the dipping, any experience on dipping after its been hung for a few days? I feel like it may not be great because its just started drying, but I have no idea?? I like the sound of baking soda... definitely going to try that! in fact, probably will on my critical 2.0 just to make sure to get unwanted critters etc off them! THanks for that!
