Trichomes! Took a mid cola sugar leaf from three different buds around the screen of the bushy pheno, she's at the end of week 9.
Have around 90% milky, 9% clear, 1% amber, and a friendly young thrip roaming through the resin jungle. Harvest time?

Bushy pheno harvested today at 9 weeks 3 days, after giving 48hrs of darkness. I'll update weights and pics when dry. Seems quick (indica leaning pheno?), but I guess the trichomes don't lie, at snip time I was up to all milky/cloudy, no clear and about 5% or less amber. Smells intense...

Stretchy pheno is at just over 9 weeks, foxtailing a little, and still has no dark pistils at all, just keeps throwing out more white ones! Smells amazingly citrus, but not incredibly frosty yet. Will try and get a pic or two later...
Interestingly, the bushy one I harvested last week (cut at base and hung upside down in the dark at 10C) which had all dark pistils when it was cut, has pushed out some fresh white ones at the tips of the colas! Never seen that before...

Here she is.... 9 weeks and 3 days, the same time the bushy pheno above was harvested.
Trichomes all clear, pistils all white and still more coming. Fan leaves discolouring a fair bit though, but cold night time temps probably have something to do with that! Damn UK cold spell means even in my heated outdoor grow space temps are 25C lights on down to 10c lights off, 5C on the coldest night last week!

Bushy pheno final dry weight 77g or 2 and 3/4oz of loosely trimmed buds. The sugar leaves were pretty frosty too, and we don't roll with tobacco here so a few leafy bits don't really matter anyway.
The last few cold nights brought out the most gorgeous purple hues in the sugar leaves.
No huge buds, and my lowest g per W ever, but I think that's grower error to be honest!

Aroma and taste is sooo lemony. Like putting whole fresh lemons in a blender and letting it rip, with a bit of sour skunky diesel throw in for good measure.

I've just run an oz through alcohol to make tincture, so will see what that yields too. My average auto buds (ak420 or amnesia), roughly trimmed, yield about 12% oil by weight, so be interesting to see the comparison...

Oil results are in... 4.5g of beautiful dark golden oil from 30g of untrimmed buds (no fan leaves, but sugar leaves left on).
That's a 15% yield, a tie with my highest ever - auto mazar and night queen, both yielded the same. I reckon if the sugar leaves were trimmed tight could probably push closer to 18-20%
It's been decarbed (4g after decarboxylating, always lose a bit of weight doing it) and put in an alcohol tincture at 15% oil by vol, making 26.5ml highly potent sublingual tincture. Less than 1ml is equal to 1g of bud, that's just 4 or 5 drops under the tongue or in an edible
I'm really looking forward to seeing how the stretchy sativa pheno turns out now. Still no receding pistils on it, and more coming!

More delays my predatory mites seem to be shite, and the spider mites are spreading like wildfire, worst I've ever had. But only on one of the two phenos. I'm thinking of scrapping the affected one, and letting just the one unaffected plant fill the space- does this sound like the right to do? I don't bloody know! Never attempted to choose a pheno and clone it before. I'll ask in the sick plants threads too...

Spidermites are literally unbeatable.
Any idea how you got them in the first place. its important to know so new grows will not suffer.
All i know is that mites are basically resistant to anything except for (forbidden) chemical substances lol.

They are very beatable without chemicals using predator mites. The trick is to check your delivery of predator mites with a scope or loupe (like you check trichomes with) and complain if they're dead. I've found Green Gardener to be reliable, some companies (dragonfli and ladybird IME) send old stock that's no good. When you've had live predators delivered, your spider mites will be gone within days! Works thrips too. They are a miracle cure, if delivered alive... Pay extra for next day delivery, it's worth it.
As for where they came from, they exist in the wild and find their way to my grow and my wives houseplants from there. This year's hot dry summer was perfect for them, and they spread like wildfire. I know three local growers all suffered terribly with them, and saw their damage on lots of wild plants of many species too. Little buggers!

Here is stretchy sativa pheno at 10 weeks 5 days. Over a week the time bushy was harvested.
Only a few dark pistils on buds which I've knocked, the whole plant is still throwing out new pistils, all trichomes clear and immature still. Foxtailing like mad, which I hope will help bulk out final yield.
It's only really in the last few days trichome production has kicked up a notch, and the smell is getting stronger, definitely lemony.
I reckon I could have another 2 to 4 weeks on this one! Curious to see how she'll develop.

Side note... The bushy pheno, despite dripping in resin and giving a great yield with extracts, doesn't get me mullered. It's a lovely mellow high, zero body stone/couch lock (unless you have too much!), quite 'up' sativa buzz. And munchies like a mutha f...er! Very nice recreationally, a miracle cure for migraines, but not great for MS cramps/spasms.
