So, after 7 days of the plant drying upside down in the tent, I cut off a branch and trimmed it. I chose what looked like the larfiest one. The stem was a thin spindle and it was covered with popcorn buds. It turned out I got an ounce off of it.
The next day, I trimmed the rest of the plant in earnest. I was surprised to find out that that larfy branch was the heaviest one. That's a lesson on pruning off suckers right there!
I still netted out 196 grams, 7 ounces exactly, from the plant. There were quite a few thumb-sized, hard-ass buds in there. Even the popcorn is dense.
including the 28 grams from the previous day, this brings the total to 196 grams.
The branch I trimmed a day earlier was a touch on the dry side. I put it in a mason jar with a boveda pack. That'll be what I sample as it cures. Since I vape, the cure can be a spectator sport. The smell is like sweet strawberries, barn funk and touch of skunk.
Because of how the first branch looked, I left a bit more stem on the buds to aid in the cure since the stems can cache water. I put the rest in one ounce Grove bags.
Just a quick addendum:
The popcorn in the jar is already starting to change in cure. Myrcene is rising into prominence as the piny scent so strong in my older Sour Stomper comes out in cure. The sweetness added by the Bembe is also there. Now that I've used it 3 times in 3 different strains, I can recognize its taste. It's a kinda perfumy sweetness. I kinda like it, but I do want to try some others. I think I'll try Bud Candy next as I see others using that one.
I made some notes on the effects as well. My first impressions have been very positive. It feels stronger than the previous batch, but not strikingly so. I would classify the strength as about a medium. Not as great as Double Grape, but really just right for a daily driver. The effect is very clean and uplifting. This perfectly tamps down the fires in my anxiety and depression. The euphoria doesn't have the hazy effects of many sativas. It also has a great appetite stimulation that is great for when your gut says no, but the scale says you should eat.
Review
I'll go ahead and review this now just in case it's not super duper clear that I absolutely love this strain. My previous grow became my favorite strain just by virtue of being the most useful. It's a breeze to grow. In fact, it's easy almost to a fault with its nitrogen sensitivity.
