Avenue of Giants - day 45 in veg (and more)
Below are my little lovelies, they have grown quite nicely with their sisters, the girl crush. I am growing several strains by this breeder at this time, and each strain is distinct in its shape, yet each is true to itself too. all of the Avenue of Giants look like AOG, all of the Girl Crush looks like itself. You can tell a lot of care has been taken with each of them, and that they had something specific in mind when they were making each one of these strains. it shows in how they are growing that they are something special. So far in the grow the AOG has been a gem. needing nothing special, eating like a champ on her normal feed schedule (posted on pg 1) under viparspectra quantum boards, 2 small ones. I am in the process of setting up a new area for them, and they, along with several of their sisters and cousins, are going to have full use of my large boards, the 2000s, and we are going to see what they can do. As I write this, they are actually about to go into flower in the next few days, the last of the twenty20 strains to do so, and then we will REALLY see what they've got. Now, I unfortunately have to condense the vegetative state somewhat.Ithere hasn't really ben too much happening right now. they were smaller until not oo long ago, so it was hard to show structure, and shape, all that. So I am going to just do a contrast/compare. Below are her 45 day photos, and her photos just taken tonight, so you can see how large she has grown. I think it gets the message across clearer, in any case. and aren't we all more interested in what happens AFTER this point, anyways? From flowering on, i will do weekly updates, so y'all don't miss a thing. A lot happened here, that has nothing to do with growing so i wont bore you with it, but it has eating a lot of my time. ThinkShe is growing in potter's Gold, mixes 70/30 with coco (heavy to the soil side). When the 45 day photos were taken, they were all in 2 gallon round pots, but the day i took these photos, I readied them for transplant, to 5 gallons each. As of right now, each one of them has had a little while in their pots, and they have just EXPLODED with growth. So much so that im comfortable in flowering her out now, to see what she's about. I have plenty of cuts, don't worry, you guys! when i know whats up with her, I may just make a monster out of her, see just how big the giant can get. This isn't about making a huge plant, though. this is about seeing what i've got in her. There are two to choose from. It hasnt been until the end of veg that I can really tell the difference between the two plants without looking at the labels.
Here are her 45-day photos. Both of them are so uniform they could be clones.
and here below you can see her as she is now. I just took this photo before i posted this, to get the best idea of how big the change 30 days can make. Yet, it hasnt changed everything. Even upgrading her to a 5 gallon pot, one of my lucky pots, she still is essentially just a larger version of the smaller plant on the rt.in the above photo. underneath the lower leaves you can see the same upside-down cone of branches that stretch very little for how big she is. That may change in flower, but somehow i dont think it will too much. her sister is even smaller than her, but is essentially the same plant. I do minimal trimming/training with the first round of any strain, and so these may end up looking a little shaggy from time to time. I like to see what im working with before i cut it off.
little AOG
big AOG
Sorry its a little short, but we all know the part we are ALL really interested in is only just begun, so i will be more considerate of everyone's curiosity from this point forward, and will dedicate more time to editing out these photos to give you all the show you deserve. I have a feeling this breeder isn't going to disappoint. I've not had the slightest hiccup since they ALL begain. not even during transplanting nor moving them to a different room. they take it all in stride.
