So had major set back after freezing rain took out power and killed my heat in grow room for one day. Temps dropped to 15c and my outdoor experience told me watch for plants turning into jabba the hutts. I wasn't looking close enough until I noticed open pollen sacks. Ooooops oh well shite happens and live and learn. Anyway the 4 mothers where removed (in early veg) and I rinsed them with water and flushed soil(mostly incase pollen laying on soil). The plants that turned where auto flowers and the main purpose of room is mothers so those plants are gone(thought about growing out, not worth messing with my mothers).
So new plan:
1) clean room and fans, run ozonator 24hrs. DONE
2) extra heater connected to back up power source. Heater wired with sump pump. TESTED DONE
3) put all 16 mothers in room and figure out spacing. Doing on weekend.
4) have decided to start new auto flowers in room again. Thought it would be great way to test for any sneaky pollen, plus I need to finish what I started and complete an auto grow. I decided I 'll only put 2 autos in room and 4 in tent.
*******
5) I've been thinking about this for awhile, I have some real long flowering times on some plants and need to get a plan ready for Octobers frost and mold.
-mold is what it is, my experience if you stay on top of it and cut out all of bud not just moldy part you 'll be alright for most part. I'll monitor and shake the water from them if I have too.
- frost, I'll cover them and buy cheap portable greenhouse from homehardware.
Cover- I'll cover them for frost and do a green house too so I can practise both ways. Also I will experiment with covering the long flowering time plants to trick into early flowering in end of July and go to mid August or late August when days time out. Also will experiment in placement of plants and using landscape to block sun and cover as seasons changes.
Lots to try out so pretty excited.
Greenhouse/shed: I will contruct greenhouse this summer and my father is keen to help. My father can be pain in arse but he is retired engineer so he is pretty smart. He wants to build greenhouse on turntable and move greenhouse to mess with sunlight times. Greenhouse is a go, turntable we'll see.
Anyway just some ideas to kick around until may 24 gets closer.
Cheers and as always if you have ideas or experience please comment away.
Everything but my zkittle glue is doing great. Went at little overboard with heater and it cooked it a bit. Have back up seed just incase, also will add black amnesia fast, pineapple express #2 , and the purps. Those 3 seeds should be early September outdoor harvest.
