I had let them dry out again. They were using water much more than I expected. So I gave them water yesterday. They are completely recovered now, but the light damage on mom #1 (who I'm now calling the "grapey" mom) is still bad enough that I moved her under the cheap light to give her a break. Mom #2 (now "melon mom") is under the good light. But I raised the good light 10 clicks. I also raised the HPS - I think adding the HPS pushed grapey mom too far in combination with the other light.
I cleaned a lot of leaves from grapey mom:
Bud development (grapey mom):
LOTS AND LOTS OF SEEDS! Grapey mom has more seeds than melon mom because of where the fan was positioned. Grapey mom seems to be a couple of weeks further along in development too. Maybe because just about every pistil was fertilized. Melon mom is more larfy too. It could be different phenomes, different light, different treatment during training.
Oh yeah - they're both very sticky. But melon mom is like a pine tree. I haven't given her much training, so today I cleaned her up a bit and removed some branches I didn't want to stake. When I was finished, the fingers of both hands were so covered with resin, you could be forgiven for thinking I just got back from picking pinon nuts.
Here's the setup now:
