Scrog and Bend

mcstretchy.jpg
I had a chance to move my indoor plant from veg into the flower tent and it's been long overdue. This thing is well over 6' and was clawing over the vivosun vs1000 light and I was starting to bend the branches over to see how it was going to handle the training. This plant is amazing and takes training no problem and the branches are really strong and hard to manipulate. Now, it's sitting under a Viparspectra KS2500 bar-style light.

I don't really know what to label this but after looking it over I'm going to call it an OG Kush strain for now, unless something tells me otherwise. It looks to be a indica dominant strain and I had this from my old seed vault so no telling how old or where it came from. Many of those are not labelled but I only save the really good ones, anyhow. Bag seed FTW!

So it's hard to follow what week this plant is in for flower but I might guess it's around week 4-5. I'm hoping the stretch is still going to help push the nodes through the net, or at least so I can help even out this canopy. This is my first time around with the scrog and I had to just give it a try given the height of this plant.

Wish me luck friends and drop me a comment if you have any suggestions, please.

She's very tall,
Would there be a way to lay her on her side with the pot in one corner.
And let the branches bend back up towards the light
Put the pot right way up and then tie her down.
Let the branches bend back up to light again.
If you understand what I mean
She should have a step shape then and be all below the light better.

Well, thats an interesting looking thicket. Maybe take some cuttings and make clones? Reset the tree trunk a bit.

Depends how brave you are,
I would super crop from about 1/2 way up, and hold the foldover in place with anything strong enough "bendyrubber coated garden wire is good" make all the folds at the same height and create a flat canopy.

or
if you are not brave, lean them over from the far corner and support them from the upper bars.at about 30cm from the light, its gonna be difficult to water but you will find a way....
or
start again! :smoking:

Thanks friends, I appreciate the comments and suggestions. She's a tall girl, for sure and a few of the main branches didn't take well to the training. In retrospect, I probably should have pulled the branches away from the light and only bend the smaller branches.

I had to cut a few large branches which was frustrating but all for science, right? I was also having a hard time with the temperatures so I gave in and moved her outdoors. She's thriving well out there now and was introduced on a few of our cooler days, it's been getting around 105+ here in AZ but these past few days have dropped into the 90s.

This has been a learning lesson for sure, I'm glad I moved her outdoors now and she has a chance to finish out. I'll try and share some pics soon and I did make some cuts of her, so for that I'm also thankful as I have 3 that are looking good in solo cups and I'm eager to run those indoors, next.

:smoking:Until next time growmies, stay lifted.
