First Grow of 2022 - Double Grape (Auto) & O.G. Kush (Auto)

This is my first Autoflower grow and my second grow overall.

This run is Mephisto Double Grape and Seedstockers O.G. Kush (Auto).

I planted the seeds in the soil on 12/29/21 to see if that would work without germinating first. I'm using tall 5-gallons fabric pots with a mixture of FFHF, FFOF, Brut Super Soil, and a mix of vermiculite and perlite. I made a fist-size pit in the center of the pots and sprinkled Great White all around then added in a handful of seeding mix with a little more Great White. I dampened the center area with a light mix of Tribus, MSA, and Mr. Fulvic. Before that, I dampened the soil to ideal conditions to set up my BluMat Moisture meters.

Today, I added in the BluMat carrots. One carrot goes deep and feeds 3 additional drippers. On a separate waterline, I have 1 ea of the shorter carrots to water at the stem.

See my attached photo for more details.

Day 85 - Harvest Day (1 of 3)

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9

Nice job man. Thats an impressive harvest. I dont think mine will even come close to that.

Harvest Data - O.G. Kush

Way more than I expected. I'm not surprised the kief wasn't more, Double Grape had a lot more frost.

All of the flowers have been heat-sealed into Grove Bags for Curing.

Flower:

* 203g (7.16 oz)

Shake for Edibles:

* 52g (1.83 oz)

Kief for Big Smiles:

* 2.00g

Note: Not the same stainless bowl that's pictured with Double Grape. I had to pull out the big guns for the OGK.

As I await a final cured flowers ...

Made almost 12 ounces of Mephisto Double Grape Oil (started with 16 oz, but a small spill and what gets lost in filtering).

I tried something different this time. Instead of going to the "Magic Butter Machine" right away.
  • I let the decarboxylated shake (about 40 grams of Double Grape shake) soak in 16 oz MCT Oil in my Crock-Pot for 3 hours on low
  • Then let it sit overnight on "Warm"
  • Next AM, I put it in the machine for 1 hour on the "Oil" Setting
The reason for this added step: from what I've learned is that these machines, during the maceration part of the process, throw a lot of bits up on the sides above the oil line. I worry, that the bits and pieces didn't spend enough time in the oil to get full extraction.

My goal was to see if I got more of the THC to get into the oil before the machine obliterates the shake into tiny pieces.

For clarity: my machine is another brand called STX Infuzium 420™ Infused Butter-Oil-Tincture Maker Machine, but people seem to know MBM better.
