Out at the moment!
I have some regular auto seeds I planned on growing half out at once in small containers so they will hurry up, flower, and pollinate.

My question to you is: what is your favorite way of pollinating your female auto?

The male's pollen will be from the same strain of auto as the female.

I was thinking of running four 16oz solo cups from seed to harvest to speed flowering time, keep size down, and just finish sooner. Do you think it would be possibly to do a seed run keeping them all in 16oz solo cups with soil as the medium?

Lastly, the way I was planning on letting the autos breed naturally. Just keeping the males and females close together with air circulating in a closed off container. Input?

P.s. I know to be careful with the pollen and not flower any others in the area that aren't autos or one I want to be pollinated. Thanks ahead of time.

If you want to breed naturally grow them together outside. :smoking:

If you want your plants to flower quickly avoid transplanting them. Id suggest you put them in slightly larger pots. Smaller pots don't speed them along.

I collect the pollen on paper and blow it at my target buds. :wiz:

favorite way?....shake the male...let the pollen fall on the female stigma.... smoke.

yea thatll work but you wont get many seeds, expect maybe 20-100 per girl. 1 gallon pots and soilless would be better buuut... cups and soil is fine if you know what your doing.

that will work, best tho to wait till males have a good bit of pollen falling, and the girls have lots of fresh white stigma reaching out (around day 30-35), then dust your girls like your applying blush to someones cheeks but using the male plant instead of a blush applicator....wait 3-4 days... dust again and then kill the males so your females have enough time to allow the seeds within there calyx's to mature (3-6 weeks). if the males are in the room the whole time theyll keep pollinating the girls as they put out new stigma and this will take energy from the already developing seedlings/mother plants and reduce viability, something you cannot afford to do in cups with soil.

I applied the pollen with a brush, and it worked as hell
Every bud got seeds so now I have seeds for a lifetime ;)

If you cross a male and female from the same strain you might end up with something far away from their parents
It depends if the strain is a true strain(not much variation in the genetics) or if the strain is an F1
If it's a cross between a true strain the seeds will be like their parents, but if it's a cross between two F1's the seeds will have a huge variety and you will never know what kind of cannabis plant will pop up from the soil

Good work!! Hope it keeps you stocked for a long time!

If both parents are true-breeding (IBL) of the same line, then the F1 offspring will also be.

If both parents are true-breeding (IBL) of different lines, then the F1 offspring will be a hybrid, but largely similar.
Then if you breed those F1 to make second gen F2, you'll get a lot of variation.

If parent is true-breeding but the other is not true-breeding, the F1 offspring will already vary a lot, and F2 more so.
If both parents are not true-breeding, then your F1 will vary hugely and F2 even more so.

This is why it really is best to use true-breeding strains for any breeding.
Otherwise the genetic variation (genotype) and phenotype variation are too great.
It become hard to work with and gradually work toward the goal gen by gen.

I use a makeup brush like this. Either use a different one for each male strain or be sure to really really clean it well:

The bigger and healthier the female plant the more and healthier the seeds. I'll occasionally keep a male in a small container so I can move him around, but I want my girls nice and fluffy (the female plants too ).

The only problem I see with using 16oz cups is the attention they will crave later in the growth. I just did a solo contest and I thought it was going to be a breeze with it being a small pot, but it was far from it. It was my most needy plant. Constantly requiring water, drying out. Not to mention the obvious of being root bound. Just be sure you can devote time to water solo cups 3 times or more a day depending on your medium and style of growing.

The 16oz cups would work awesome in a system like a flood and drain or something with automated watering.
