I tend to make whatever I need , excluding lights . Even those I have made using CFLs .My 2 newest projects came out pretty good and cost very little . Much less than buying anything off the shelf to replace them .

My first thing was a new cloner . Bought 4 mini totes for $1 total . Used tools on hand to make my holes for cuttings . A 6" airstone and pump that cost me $11 . A little metal tape at $3 for a roll and Rapid Rooter plugs .

These clones went in and started rooting at around 7 days . This is day 10 for them .

Here it is topside . Can fit 8 clones and the container is just 4 quarts .

My other little project was to eliminate the smell from some stinky strains . Pretty simple . $5 for bucket and lid . $5 for some soil moist . $14 for Ona concentrate . And $14 for an Attwood 4" fan , 12 volt . Used an old phone charger for power . So far , this has cleaned up ALL smells within not just my grow area , but the whole house . Simple as pie , just cut the top hole and drilled holes on the side of the bucket . Added a few gallons of water/concentrate to soil moist . Turned the fan on and within minutes the area smelled of fresh linen :D

About $50 for both projects combined . Not to bad considering an 8 spot Daisy cloner is around $80 locally . And a carbon filter is much more than my bucket , not including a fan that can move air through it .

ONA mildly works...but breathing it sucks, you can ONA your lungs after a while and have that shit on your breath. Think of it as a chem bath for your house air... And a carbon filter is a organic happy place where all your smells can get locked up.:2cents::peace:

Yeah , I know cres . My little bucket isn't a 24 hr a day thing . Right now it is getting used just when I notice "the smell" when walking in my front door . But . for next summer it will be going all the time . I will need it for my air exhaust to the outdoors . Essentially , it will not be blowing around in the house .

I would use a carbon filter again , but since I have no heat issues , I find using a big fan a waste for me . Not just the cost of initial purchase , but the electricity involved is more than I need . If I were still using HID for my cabs , I would go with a fan/filter .
