5 gallon fabric pots
Roots organic original soil
Natures Living soil for nutrients

Plants are 4 days into flowering and the roots probably hit the bottom layer of roots organic original soil/Natures living autoflower concentrate formula. Bottom leaves are turning yellow with dark spots forming. I'm not sure if the nutrients are too hot for the plants or if i'm having a deficiency problem. Also I had what I think were gnats. I picked up a bunch of the yellow sticky traps which caught a bunch of those buggers.

This is the first time that I am checking the ph of my ro water which is it 6.6. Water is sourced from those pay water bottle dispensers.

I did pick up a bottle of cal-mag, but haven't used it.

I attached an image of the plant issue.

@d0773d is that leaf touching the soil?

Don't use the Cal-Mag.

We need to see pictures of the entire plant in regular daylight 5000k with the grow lights turned off.

Please fill in this form: (copy and paste part is below, this first one tell what specifically to include)

-Problem: (brief description)
-Medium/grow method: soil; soilless-- coco, or peat based like Promix, etc. (please provide the actual product name); DWC, NFT, etc.
-Feed and supplements used: include brand, dosage/strength, frequency of feeding and watering (alone); method-- by hand, drippers, rercirc' or drain-to-waste,... N-P-K #'s too if you can!
-Water source: RO/DI; tap- dechlorinated-?..... EC or TDS reading; pH (don't bother with this on RO/DI, do bother with TDS/EC though to confirm it's working well enough)
-Strain and age
-Climate: night and day ambient T and RH%; res' temperatures; any extremes in T/RH% exposure
- Light used: HID, LED, COB, combo of,... wattage; light cycle hours (20/4, 18/6 , etc.); distance to tops....
-Additional info: PH in the root zone. How long have the plants been affected?...How fast did symptoms appear?... Anything else you think might be relevant..

--Pictures including WHOLE PLANT PICS, and troubled leaves.. use normal light or flash as other light sources ruin color rendering, critical for diagnostics! Turn off the grow lights.

@Mañ'O'Green

I apologize for the lack of info, I was in a rush before work and just noticed the girls didn't seem right.

Problem: Bottom leaves are turning yellow with dark spots forming bottom leaves are also drooping. All plants are doing this.

Medium/grow method: roots organic original potting soil

Feed: and supplements used: Natures living Soil followed feeding instructions from bag

water source: RO

PH in the root zone: Didn't take. Not sure how to.

Strain/age: 3 plants are West Coast OG. 1st week into flower/ 1 plant is blackberry kush. All plants are one month old and in their 1st week of flowering.

light used: 3 - Viper Spectra V300

Climate: indoors

Additional info: Soil seems a bit dry, but I will hold off on watering until I get more info. Some of the bottom leaves are touching the soil. Ive been watering 3 - 4 days. Two waterings ago I did a batch of 5 gallons of compost tea: 2 heaping tablespoons of concentrate and one tablespoon of un-sulfured black-strap molasses per gallon of water.

Looks like another victim of “NLS Disease”. There are several others here as well as myself who have had the same issues you are currently experiencing. All used the NLS and and had issues once plant was in flower. It is difficult to determine whether you have a deficiency or too much of something with the NLS. At this point do not add anything but water until someone with more knowledge chimes in. Posts from others who had similar issues using NLS:

While it is possible the NLS is out of balance I think you whizzed right by the problem - your environment? it looks like your RH/temperature ratios may be off. If the plant is not transporting water efficiently all manor of nutrient problems can follow. Make sure you environment is following these VPD guidelines.

The most reliable way to test the PH in the root zone is with an Accurate 8 or Blue Lab meter.

This is the clone to the Accurate 8, be sure to check the price on both as the name brand is sometimes cheaper.

This definitely looks like another log for the NLS fire.. Sucks to see for sure. Truth be told, there isn't much you can do at this point. The soil was either pre mixed with NLS or its layer with NLS.. Either way it's already in the pot with no way to get it out.. NLS doesn't tell you what' nutrients are used or in what ratios. It's impossible to know what's going on it that pot nutrient wise. I know it's not a deficiency though! How old is the plant? Watering every 3-4 days is not often enough. The soil has to remain moist to remain (alive). Image yourself going 3-4 days without anything to drink.. It's takes a toll on you.. Same with the plants.

Just for reference.. I bought that same bag of roots organic original a little more than a month ago.. I popped 10 seeds and put each one of them in one gal pots of the roots organic. Today is day 40 from seed. I haven't added a single thing. Just plain non ph'd water. And they are all perfectly healthy. I could probably squeeze out another 10 days if I needed to. So just the roots organic alone can get you through at least half of the life of an auto grow, with NOTHING added or used. I totally understand the urge to mix stuff, and feed things, and to do what everyone else is doing.. But 90% of that stuff is over kill. Your goal at this point is to slow the spread of the issues as much as possible and kind of limp to the finish line. Water only for a while may help.. But it could also make things worse.. There's no right answer.. That sucks to type and it sucks to read, but I dont wanna mislead ya.

Does this chart apply to all stages of growth? I was under the impression there are different VPD requirements for a plant in veg. vs. flowering?

VPD does not change. VPD is the RH/Temp ratios that promote respiration in the plant. In veg you want higher RH in flower lower RH but you still want them at minimum in the yellow zone even in late flower.

This is actually a better chart than that one and is based on a leaf temperature 2 degrees cooler than your ambient temperature. I find it nearly impossible to meet VPD here in the desert where I live. My goal is to keep my RH >40%<60%.

Excellent, this is the very chart I've been following thanks.

And I understand the struggle. I'm at the opposite end of the spectrum: on an island with ridiculously high humidity in the summer, and the driest of winters!
