Hi all,

I'm 25 days from seed and am getting some yellow tips on new growth on my 3 most advanced plants, I hadn't given them any nutes just plane water before I noticed it but I have since fed my 5 biggest.

I'm using a LED SF-4000 which is hung about 60cm from tallest and 75cm from the smallest that are developing the yellow tips.

I'm growing in bat special soil, in 11l pots, heat averages at 28 and humidity 61 with lows of 50 and highs of 69. The heat recorder shows slightly higher temps than my thermostatic controller as the recorder is mounted on the wall by the light where as the thermostat is at canopy.

Any suggestions to what could cause this?

That is called tip burn. it is an indicator that you have reached her maximum nutrient strength back off by 10%.

I hadn't added any nutes when this started, if anything I'm over cautious not to give them much water, could the routes of spread to dry untouched nutes that came in the soil?

Could be light burn if your light is close. Is it only on the top of the plant?

I have the exact same issue going on.

It definitely looks like nute burn to me. Seeing as you haven’t added any nutes then maybe your ‘bat special soil’ is just a touch too ‘hot’. A bit of nute burn won’t hurt, some growers run with that level of burn all the time so they know the plants are getting everything they need.

Greetings.
I'm fairly new to this, just 4 weeks into my 4th run. Prior to this run I used bat special every time & had issues with nute burn (yellowntios/clawing) this run I have 3 in just biobizz light & 3 in a Batspecial mix. The ones in the BS are showing the typical signs of nute burn whereas the ones in strait bb light aren't.... I'm sure bs is great soil but for new growers (in soil) it takes a lit of guess work out if you just use something with a schedule that has been tried and tested.
I'll be sticking with the bb light from now on ;)

Bio buzz is great but I see this same problem with fox farm ocean forest just for example that soil is probably great for mixing in a good handful or 2 to the top half or so and I bet u it would work great if ur going with soil you really need to know the soil or you run into problems that's wats great about here but anyway as was said lots of growers run as close to that as possible now from my experiences with both coco and soil a lot of mephisto for example tend to like lower amount of available food for example in coco or soil when I used bottle nutes 500ppm was sometimes too much and I would have to look but I don't think it's been higher then 600ppm with any mephistos genetics not saying certain phenos may like more or less even some u just can't make happy. Either way they look good bud so as long as it's not progressing much if any. Sending good karma and vibes ur way.
