I've been away for 4 days and when I came back yesterday evening, I noticed yellow spots on some leafs of my plants. I've already been searching the internet yesterday evening, but couldn't really figure out what the problem was.
There's just so many problems a plant can have with yellow leaves as a result... I didn't come across something that perfectly matched 'my' problem.
So I hope anyone knows the cause of my babies illness ;-)
I'll give you some more info:
Problem: Yellow spots on leaves and 2 plants with small holes in the leaves
Medium/grow method: (appr.) 60% DCM Ecoterra quality soilmix + 30% coco + 10% perlite
Feed: and supplements used: none
water source: tap water + some rainwater
Strain/age: Dutch Automatic / 1 month (since 5/5)
light used: Sun
Climate: Belgium.(Oceanic climate)
Additional info: We've had great weather in may. Sunny and some days reaching up to 30°C (86 Fahrenheit) but mostly between 20°C (68F) and 26°C (79F). This weekend however (when I was away) it has rained a few times and the plants got a bit more water than they were used to. I know overwatering is a big problem with newbies like myself, so I made sure I didn't give them to much water. However, the person who took care of the plants this weekend gave a bit to much and moreover it rained too.
I sprayed the plants with some natural insecticide and a week (or more ago) I also sprayed them with Neem oil emulsion.
When I left ont friday morning, everything was ok. When I came back monday evening I saw the spots. Today I even saw some holes in leaves...
i now sprayed again with that bio insecticide.
Maybe important:
- I've noticed that some lemon verbena (Aloysia citrodora) had similar problems (see pictures). However, this plant has been planted in the garden soil in stead of pots.
- The plants are next to a potato field. I saw the farmer spraying something on his potatoes last week. However, nettles and other plants in their immediate neighborhood don't seem to be affected.
It even seems to me that the different plants could be affected by different problems...? But I really don't have a clue
I hope someone can help. Thanks in advance.
