Hey guys,
got a freebie NL x Big Bud auto by World of seeds from attitude around day 52. 2 gal pot with FFOF under 400w hps. Strong but weird plant because it topped itself fairly early on in the grow and then topped itself once more right before going into flower. She grew some crazy support joints where she topped herself though! She really needs some cal/mg, but hydro shop is closed today...gonna pick up some agricultural limestone, something my friend told me would really help her with some cal/mg.

She only had weird, mutated leaves all the way until she topped herself, and then the new 2nd top grew with beautiful healthy leaves. The original stem continued to spurt out mutated leaves and growth, but the new stem became a really nice healthy top. Its like having two different plants right next to eachother...She smells like mangos and all kinds of citrus, really excited to smoke!

She looks good despite the def. I have a photo Blue Hash Plant that did the same thing. Topped itself and grew them bulbous joints. I'm a sucker for mutated plants. Don't know why but I always get a little stoked when they start doing abnormal things. I had one that was growing 7 fingered leaves with stubby middle fingers and another that was a triploid. Always cool to watch them grow.

can i ask how a plant tops itself? thats pretty awesome. the xmen of plants

I'm really not sure what he meant by topping itself. It's natural for some leaves to turn yellow late in the flowering period and that may be what your seeing.

I've had a couple plants top themselves as well. It's just a mutation where the main shoot stops growing after a certain node, and from that node two branches shoot up and become two main stems. Pretty whacky, and wonderfully cool! Mutations are neat :D

Looking good dude. I've got a BBxNL auto going around the same time in growth and I've found her to be craving cal/mg more than any other of my plants. Started using molasses and now she's looking better.

thats awesome... now only if plants could learn how to scrog, trim them selves, girnd them selfs and crawl into my illidelph hahha

around day 14, she spit out another top that has competed the whole time with the initial top. The initial top has mutated leaves but the new top seemed to fix the mutant problem and has been growing normally and beautifully. The yellowing is a pretty bad cal mg deficiency that I am just now starting to fix.

I totally agree with yall about keeping mutants, if anything they will entertain you the whole grow before you smoke whatever you can off of em. friends of mine were very pessimistic about her. I used to joke and say that one top was my Northern Lights and the other was the Big Bud :D shes looking and smelling great, and now that the pistils are starting to turn color, it becomes muuuch more tempting :smokeit:
