The temperatures are starting to fall now as winter approaches. I currently grow under 600w hps on 18/6.I have 4 plants 2 at 6 weeks old and 2 at 4 weeks old. I was thinking of adding a 180w LED for 24hrs and leave the hps on 18/6 just to keep the temperatures up when the hps is off not to mention to add the extra lumens.

The question is would this stress my plants in anyway? The last thing I want from my girls is for them to grow balls !!

If the plants had been under the proposed lighting schedule from sprout I wouldn't be so concerned but as they are already quite well developed I'm not sure.

@Ripper being a bit of a go to man on lighting maybe you could throw in you 2 cents.

I find heat stress to be strain dependent a lot of times. I run my led lights continuously. Currently one plant can't handle the cob's when activated and cries out to stop. The other two plants are fine.180w led light will be no problem.

For heat, I utilize an old wooden 2 drawer file cabinet stripped and pushed up against a tent opening. I dropped in an oil filled radiator heater and the inline fan sucks in the heat, so the girls are always worm and comfortable when needed.

Thanks for that. Nice idea having the warm air sucked in. My concern isn't so much heat stress but more related to the light intensity and cutting out the dark period mid way through a grow.

Has anyone any experience with changing the lighting schedule randomly during an autoflower grow.
