Problem(s): Browning/Necrotic growth/////Clawing leaves///Swollen Veins///Stretching

Soil - FF Ocean Forest

Feed: Gen Hydro Flora Series Kit, Cal_Mag

water source: Tap, pumped thru airstones and PHed to 6.8

Strain/age: Auto Big Bud Week 3

light used: (8) 30W 4 Ft. Vividgro Grobar 4000 K

Climate: Temps 66-78

Additional info: Runoff PH 6.8

I have (5) 7 gallon pots with Auto Big Buds, 2 or 3 of them look generally healthy but one has some serious browning on the old growth leaves and is stretching super bad. Upon closer inspection you can sort of see a rust like film starting to form over some of the new growth. Another 1 or 2 plants seem to be downward clawing, and veins throughout seem to be a bit swollen. I have only fed them nutes once and I cut the amounts in half so not to shock.

Any ideas?

Am surprised your feeding anything other than cal/mag, FFOF is known to be hot soil nute wise, and soil ph has been erratic for a while. Enough so that alot of us havent used it for a couple years. Have you tested the soil? Run off? Ppm?

Yeesh thats good to know. I suppose Ill just go calmag from here on out.

Ill be honest with you I dont have a probe/ppm meter yet.

Runoff has been a consistent 6.8

Doh! Just saw the runoff (damn stoner)... Still leaning to an overly high nute issue, possible ppm issue.

FFOF used to be all I ran in, autos fair better in the HF, it's more gentle. Have seen alot of seedlings scorched with the OF. They usually pull out of it. I'd prolly back off feeding for a bit like you said.

Word thanks Arthur!

Lights and genetics are all different, and I'm in a calcium based line so let's see if maybe we can get @namvet25 to take a look and get you pointed in the right direction. But the girls don't seem to be showing a need yet.. or @Waira maybe?

:toke: Hibbs-- unfortunately, I think the Fuxfarms OF crap is behind this,... spotty quality, often badly off pH right out of the bag,... it may be 'rich", but it's not well balanced for nutes, lacking some altogether, so the plants can still come up shorted,... I think I'm seeing some P defc. on them, which also hints at either simple lack of, or it's locked out by overly acidic pH,... Now, the run-off pH collected how? clean saucer, using just water unadjusted? Point is, r-o isn't reliable for actual in-pot pH, and any pH adjusting going in or nute solutions will further skew what are already iffy results,... Also, is your pH meter recently calibrated, and stored in the right solution? ... they are rather small, stunted, so they won't get much bigger at this point,... Hmmm, we need to get a reliable in-pot pH to know what the next step should be,... a very crude measure of pH can be had from r-o, at least hinting if it's badly off pH in there, you need to use plain water only, collect from clean saucer or whatever,... let at least a pint or so flow out first, .... pending this, the soil needs to be pH corrected before adding nutes,....
