Hi, everybody.

I am a new grower that had just three grows behind me. All autos. I am wondering why my plants stay at 12-14 inches tall, and yields just 20-25 grams each. While other growers here have 20-30 inch tall plants that yield like 50 grams (reular autos).

Is it any secret growing tips that us new growers can follow, or something like that? Do it lay in what, or how or when you give your nutes? Or is it the pH that is the most important. Or something else maybe?

Have a good day everyone. /H.

There is no secret mate, some autos genetics mean they stay small, but there are many factors that can help you get a bigger yield..you want a good size pot,a good medium, good nutes, enough light for the plants to thrive, ventilation, monitor the ph..it's a combination of everything plus some love that gives the plant the best chance of getting big.iv taken advice off fellow members regarding nutes, feed veg nutes until vertical growth stops at around week 5/6,then switch to bloom.iv tried this method for my current grow and my girl is looking great, check out my sig grow.this does not guarantee big plants though it's just a tip for feeding nutes.i also use bud candy and bloombastic for flowering

i am in kinda the same boat you are in, my largest yeild from 1 auto so far as been 47 grams dry, i see others pull way more then that. Alot has to do with the strain and pheno types i beilive. I Have some Max Gom's i am going to be starting in the next 2 to 3 weeks. Going to see how that goes. Been kinda frustrating for me. I have been thinking about going to photos. Not sure yet. I think some other things can come into play like Under Feeding. Which i realized i was doing on my second grow. I havn't had much luck with Short Stuff Seeds, Onxy, Mi5 and HBD were all kinda small. To many times already i got some dwarfs, single cola auto that is about maybe 8 to 10 inches. That is kinda frustrating right there because i feel i should just rip it out and put something else in its spot. I am sure there is a strain of autos out there for you that will give you great yeilds.

PH is always important, i bubble my water res and ph it out to 6.7 before watering. From what i read is exactly the area of PH you want for Autos.

I use the Humbodlt lineup for nutes myself

IMO, the key to big plants and yields with autos is getting them as big as possible during veg. Starting them in small pots, especially shallow ones, can stunt them. Any issues with pH during veg will also stunt them. Of course, your soil, lights and nutrients also play a roll, as well as the strain you are growing. A lot of dwarf strains, especially the indica ones, aren't going to get much over 14 - 18" even under the best of conditions. It's just not in their genes.
