Mephisto Genetics Which `OG` from Mephisto?

Hi guys,

I am about to finalise my season 2019 grow plan and wanted to ask your help concerning Mephisto's OG strains. Ripley's OG, 3 Bears OG and Samsquanch OG all sound amazing, but make it hard for me to pick which one to go for (besides various other Meph strains).

Grow Setup: Southern Europe, terrace with almost all day of direct sunlight. Neighbours around so the worst stinkers are not necessarily preferred ;-)

I am looking for that classical OG Kush end product, that happy but relaxed stone, that perma-grin effect that just makes everything as pleasant as it gets (without causing anxiety/paranoia).
So far my favourite Mephisto strain is the Bluetoof Special pheno. I got it as a freebie - what a positive, mellow and calming effect, love it, too bad they cannot be ordered.

Hope you could help me pick which one to go for - happy to hear your recommendations / experiences!

Ripleys gets big and samsquanch supposed to be the stinker so I think 3BOG is your best bet. The samsquanch might be the best out of the group though asnits the first newest OG.

Total Meph Head I am and love my OG. All three are great and you can’t go wrong . My favorite is 3Bears OG.... fantastic, feeling groovy, old school perms smile smoke. It is a bit sweeter than the classic OG. I like it better. If you want a more true to OG , I would pick Sam OG, also same if yield is crucial. Ripleys is the most potent of the bunch..., different feel in my opinion, and largest yielder. May want to pick up one of each and decide.

Mizzo, on the Mephisto homepage it says the Samsquanch OG is a "medium to high odour" strain, so is it really that bad?
The others typically say "high, odour control a must" or so, that's why I'm wondering. For Ripley's and 3 Bears I don't find that rating, so hard to compare those ones just by the homepage.

BCBudlady, your description of the 3 Bears OG high makes me definitely want it sounds like what I am looking for! Could you compare the two or even three strains in terms of odour?

I would say 3BOG is the lowest odor of all 3. SamOG might be highest. Plant size is a factor (bigger plant/ more surface area to stink) OG stank is there in all 3. They are not low odor strains .

I grew an OG about a decade ago and the clone stunk up my entire house, it was pretty unreal. I had a DIY carbon filter back then and it didn’t hold up well. Haven’t had anything that stinky now that I’ve started growing autos... so my question for you guys since we are talking about the different meph OG strains is
1- can a standard carbon filter for 4 inch inline duct fan coupled with a standard sized inline fan for the space do the trick? If not .. what will? And for which OGs?

I really want to order some samsquanch or maybe bubbsquanch, but my current filter has been running for about 5 months now & I just wanna know what I’m getting into so that I am prepared

Will go for 3 Bears OG then, guess that's a great complement to my other picks: Toof Decay, Hubbabubba.., GWK, Orange Diesel, and maybe as well NCH due to its "stealthiness" but typically not a big fan of the haze rush, so haven't decided here yet.

Not sure if it helps but i grew out 2 Ripley's over the summer, 82 days and they smelled of pure lemon pine sol when broken up. Strong but nice smell. Didn't smell much outside my door but inside i knew it was there. No filters as well. I vaped some a few days ago and when i sat at the table at work aprox 30 mins later my arms felt like they were stones. I had to tell myself to lift them for my drink. Full concentration to get them moving. No real head high as i can recall, just very relaxed while sitting there.

on the OG hunt myself, got a Ripley's at 76 days;

won't be long for her now, she smells very lemon/pine/vomit in the best way, very excited to try her out.

Samsquanch OG just popped out the soil this morning, day 1.
Planning on running 3 Bears in the very near future too.

FWIW, I have grown countless strains, mostly Autos and to date, the stinkiest plants I’ve grown out were Bubbasquanch... given out more that a year ago as a freebie. It remained so stinky after the cure that I would not try to bring her anywhere that weed smells would be a real problem. It is one of the best , and crowd pleasing strains I’ve grown.. but top quality carbon filter needed!
Mine is a 6in in line fairly inexpensive one. Plant number also mattters . I can’t expect to have more than 4 plants in full flower and not have a hint of what I’m up to.
