Hey all, my girls are just starting their 4th week under a couple 125w Procyon leds and a couple 150w cfls(6400k) on the sides. I just got my 600w mh/hps light
and hooking it up tomorrow. Not sure if I should put in the mh bulb for a while or go straight to the hps. Thanks for any advise.

***I started mine from seed from a 400w hps, and once their showin female is the best time for the hps. It has more red spectrum for flowering. I wud use the hps from here on out.
Good grow:smoke:

i agree with stone p
got mine under the hps since they sticked their head out of earth, just make sure u got enogh distance cuz 400w hps are getting pretty hot !

wow, thanks for the quick responses! Gonna go straight to hps than.

U cud keep the side lights for xtra as well! Just a thot.
Yeah Stone P, I'm going to use the leds as side lighting and save the cfls for seed starting/clones with the next batch of photo period seeds.

If your HPS bulb has an expanded blue spectrum it can be used start to finish and will provide good results. But since you already have the MH bulb I would suggest you use it till vertical growth stops, usually around week 6. Also keep it on veg nutes, then once vertical growth stops switch to the HPS light and to bloom nutes at the same time.

Good plan. They're real bushy, so I'd like them to get taller before flower. 2 of them are Think Different which I've read can go 90 days, so 6 weeks veg sounds good. I was worried I was
going too long in veg so that's a relief. Thanks

yes typically... I know hortilux makes one like that... supposed to be the bomb... :toke:

I find full spectrum is always better than just one or the other... with a heavy lean in the direction of the phase your in (fowering / vegging etc)

The hps bulb I got is "super" hps. Does that mean it has some blue in it?

As I understand things, "Super HPS" typically has more blue spectrum than regular HPS. Even better, if you're growing with only one type of bulb, you want that one bulb to be HPS rather than MH. Super HPS is even better for a single bulb grow. Especially when growing autoflowers, there's no need to use a MH. I presume others may have a different take, but I have five beautiful auto girls growing amazingly under a 600w Eye Hortilux Super HPS. I am very pleased. Very pleased indeed.
