i normaly grow normal plants and i use 600wmh and hps, everyone here seems to have t5 lighting i was lead to believe its only for cuttings,
im i seeing wrong that a t5 wil do better than the 600whps?

There's actually a broad range of lighting systems being used here. Many are using HPS or CFLs, and a lot of us, myself included, are using LEDs. The advances in the bulbs are what is getting attention for T5s. A couple members are using the new Quantum Bad Boys with their tri-phospur bulbs and getting excellent results. They come in both 2700k and 6400k so are good for both veg and bloom. Take a look at Jackals Mi5 grow and you'll see the killer results he's getting with them. A lot less heat than HPS which makes them attractive to many people.

nice thanks ill have a loom, but dya wrekon 600whps would outway the t5 stil? so if i see a good t5 i know i can better with my hps?

i know led can wak all round but the cost it not good atm lol

I don't any first hand experience with the T5s yet, but judging on what I've seen, they are pretty close. More usable light than HPS. 80 - 85% of HPS output is lost to heat. In the long run, LEDs are cheaper than HPS. Even though the up front cost is more, there is considerable savings in electricity and not having to replace HPS bulbs every year or to at about $100 each.

although i'm HPS for flowering, i use T5 for the entire veg cycle on my photo grows. they are much more forgiving to your plants as far as heat output than a metal halide. T5's seem to build a very strong plant, and the cost to operate is very reasonable.

Here, have a look around my albums...https://www.autoflower.org/members/ripster/albums/

All are grown under T5 HO 8 bulb Fixture. Even the Photo's...I love them for the Auto's cause you can keep the light 3 to 5 inches away from the plants the whole time and the auto's don't get huge, so they really enjoy the veg. spectrum from start to finish on 20/4 light schedule...

From my experience, babies grow extremely well under t5s and cfls. If u start directly under hps sometimes they grow very weird. I never start my babies under hps anymore. Also when u mix red and blue bulbs they grow really REALLY good. They grow very evenly with nice tight internodes. Sometimes with only blue light they stretch. and with only red they dont get tall enough. Always mix your bulbs for best results. Have the plants under the t5s or cfls for the first 30days or longer if you want, then I move them under hps for the rest of flowering

well this is what im used to with my 600wmh, this is day 41 from seed ltid_001.jpgltid_007.jpgltid_008.jpgreg ofc this one

but my room temp is max 22degrees, and i keep the light in veg at 2-3 inch on a seedling, ive got an 8inch L1 rvk sucking out the coolshade so it dont even get warm, in winter i put a heater on for night and daytime on standby for when it drops.

and now ive got that tent ive got 1 spare 1.2m was goign to put another 600w cooled in there for the autos, but them t5s seem good just wondered what way was best to go as autos mita bin totaly different to normal reg seeds

If you're happy with the results from the 600, stick with it. I use T5 for my small scale grows due to the energy efficiency and low temps. Others have different needs. I don't think anybody here is saying ditch your HID lighting and go with T5, but they are very effective lights. The great thing about AFN is that we've got people growing excellent plants with every kind of setup you can imagine.

they look good. Never tried mh with autos. U plan on using mh all the way through?
