Hey guys! Hope everyone is having an excellent Monday. I've been lurking around here for about a year. I never really post much but, I need a little advice. If this is in the wrong section... My bad, please move it. I have a 5x5 running two 600 hps/mh. Currently im about three weeks into a run. I have 7 blue mazars, 3 think differents, and 2 bubba yums.

I want to maximize yeild. I want to run a sea of green next time. This is my third run in this set up. I'm running all organic using roots/happy frog soil in 3 gal pots. With roots player pack organic nutes.

Should I run bigger plants like blue mazars or cram like 16 smaller plants in there? I'm not sure what strain or what the hell I should do next. What do you guys think. My last run was a mixed pack from sweet seeds, I ran 9 different strains under one 600 watt but felt like I had wasted space. I was pulling 1-1 1/2 off each plant so, ok yeilds I guess, I'm pretty new to this. Input? Opinions?

Id like to see Mephisto 24 carat run SOG style.

Candy kush, dianmex, Spanish diesel, auto pounder, sweet Trainwreck

In a 4x4 space under a single 600w I used to run 36 plants and get over a gpw, for a 5x5, I would try 49 plants in 6 litre pots would give a very nice yield in my opinion.
better to run something short and fast, that has a nice main cola, the smaller pots should reign in the length of branches, you can clip off the first 2 sets and get nice satellite buds.
Not sure what reflectors you are using but if you can get a nice even spread of light and also pay attention to making your canopy as even as possible that will really help.
not meaning to self promote but we have 2 strains that work very well as sog plants, 24 carat as mentioned above, and sour crack.
i can't say what wares from other companies may work in this application but I'm sure someone will step in with a few more suggestions.
cheers

'krackah- LOL! ...this section is more of a library, mate, not much traffic here,... for questions like this, the Indoors or New Growers sections would be better, higher traffic choices for getting responses,.....Thank you Mitch and Magic for chasing this one down!... Myself, I've never had the chance to try this short-but-sweet (and fat!) SOG method, but I've seen how nicely it can work! Amazing, the amount one can pull from such a small volume of space,...:Cool bud:

With the price of seeds, Id have a hard time justifying 49 in a space that small!!! Im sure it would work well, but price may be an issue. I bet 16 in 1 gallon pots would work well... Mitch, what do you think about Toof Decay for a SOG style grow?

True I wasn't thinking from a price point.
but, if you can get 700+ grams in 9 weeks under one light..you'd recover the Initial cost several times over in product.

we also had very good yields doing 25 plants in 12 litre square pots, I never weighed it as it was all for seed, but i would be interested to try a back to back comparison both ways with two of our strains.

toof decay would be perfect for a sog,
cheers mitch

Time my good brother, always it's the time...- :roflcry: ...Infirmary and LHT are high maintenance places!
