Who else is using the blackstar here? I did some research and without a doubt, the price is very tempting. Less than the light i'm testing cost direct from the factory but 180wts compared to 287 will make a difference. 1 year compared to 3 years is another consideration, ask for 2 blues and 2 reds, no white or UV (the UVA is non functional to plants and wasting energy) the IR is good but can burn plants if run to close so go far IR. 90degree lens is great for tall photo plants but i would recommend the 120 for these autos (even though the ones i'm testing are 90 degree because we had to see the penatration for photos). a great thread on this subject is here http://bubbleponics.com/forum/showt...-side-by-side-with-Grow-LED-Hydro-240W/page48
The LED's i'm testing will cost around $500 and that's less than half of what the so called "big shots" produce $ to $ of usable energy to grow any dark leaf flowering greens
Hey Smoke, big difference between the 2 you mentioned. you can buy 6 blackstars for the cost of one Hydro and the Hydro has been coppied and way improved for way less with the same warranty. I have had my hands in the copycat and i'll tell ya, there isn't anything that could go wrong with it that a monkey couldn't fix if something happened to it while its covreed so no sending back and waiting for repairs. .... Just FYI stuff
