Hey y'all - Longtime listener, first time caller.
This is my first attempt at a grow. Here's my basic setup:
2 x Komee Sun God Mini Lotus CFL's (6700k, approx. 9000lum per bulb - yes, they're monsters) approx 4" from tops
ExHale bag above plants. Basic temp and humidity control (78 deg is where it stays)
Sunshine Advanced Mix #4 Soil in 3 gal pots with addl. drainage drilled
I'm growing 2 Big Buddha Critical Mass autos for my first time out. They germed well in jiffy cubes - transferred to soil when the taproot hit 3/4".
The attd' pics show them at day 10. They are most definitely starting to show some vigor - I was concerned around day 7 when the 2nd set of true leaves were just barely one blade, but they've since really started to pop.

So here's my concern - a few leaves are showing some dry/waxy areas. Not necessarily dry to the touch, just something.... well, fuck, if i knew what I wouldn't be here!
The only thing that strikes me as a possibility is that I'd buried the stems up to the cotyledon and the leaves would have had some contact with the grow medium. And though there are no added nutrients to the soil, could something have caused the dryout?

It's my first grow and I'm having more fun than I thought I would - and it should be said, I knew this would be a lot of fun when I finally hit "submit order" with Attitude.
The ventilation is good for the space (it's an unused shower, I thoroughly disinfected prior to planting). Trying to think of anything else that might be a clue.
- I'm a nube and, true to form, I'm overthinking it. Trying to only water when needed. Soil PH is leaning acidic though I don't have a way to monitor exactly. No nutes added yet.
- At a certain point I may have had the lights a hair too close. The Mini Lotus bulbs are freakshows with the amount of light they put out.
- If these leaves are lost, is it okay to prune 'em - or do I just let nature try and work itself out?
- I've got a decent hydro / grow shop in the area for nutes / additives, so any suggestions can probably be sorted out quickly.
I'm not expecting to walk away from this first grow like some magic bean farmer or something. But if I get a little something I'll be happy - the BBCM autos are regarded as capable of putting out a fair amount of bud. I'd look at anything approaching 30gm per plant as a huge victory given how much novice growers have to do everything wrong at least twice.
