Hey gang, posting this for a friend...anyone know what might be going on with this plant? Not an auto, just trying to help him out. Outdoor it's whole life, no nutes, just letting it do it's thing. No real signs of balls or pistils...hermi maybe?

I think that is a genetic thing and even has a name but I do not recall? @Waira may know.

:eek1: Oh yeah, seen that, had that (or something very similar), though the blotchy coloring and bad looking newest growth trouble me...
.....it's gotta be genetic, starts in the very first set of true leaves usually, maybe 1-2 nodes after,... I'm not sure exactly what is is, or even if the similar appearing cases are being caused by the same defect/issue/anomaly...
And by genetic, I don't mean just it's own unfortunately; best case, it's a simple mutie...Worst case, it's a virus :hothot: But only way to tell that for sure is a lab test that will cover more than one viral type-

Symptoms: the crinkle leaf thing shows on occasion, not so rare; sometimes it hinders the plants vitality and performance, others seem to get by OK.
Now, that crazy blotchy green/yellowing pattern is not what I usually see along with this, so that's why my nose is twitching a bit....
The newest growth pattern screams micronute defc. but may not be? I have seen and had a plant (normal leaf) show constant glaring micronute def. issues from early on, and be difficult to correct. Something going on with it's ability to take up or metabolize certain micronute elements (usually a metal)?

I had a SexBud mutie crinkle that was weak, brittle leafed, bitchy about nutes but I kept her anyway,... it was worth it! She stayed small, yielded poorly, but made very fine bud that smelled like fresh apricots --:drool:wow!
Kyote now has a Red Mandarine F1FV that showed the crink's, but it's one of his nicest plants! :crying:

:greenthumb:
Eephus, ask your mate if it was like this from very early on... Is it from reg seed do you know, or sex shown yet? Likely not going to hermi-out, but you never know so it bares close watching just to be sure,...
No fix for this genetic snafu in any case,.. best grower can do is feed and do some foliar feeds with micronutes/kelp + Si and see if it helps correct the color at least,...

Isn't that called crinkled or some like that I know there's a strain out there that has that trait consistently l. Also another strain with weird mutations is freakshow I forgot who breed that tho.
