Watering plants with Neem oil?

I am having my first fight with spider mites. I been reading around and have seen the great uses of neem oil. I have also only seen a couple of brief mentions of adding neem oil to the feedings. apparently it makes the plant undesirable to the little plant munchers.

Can anyone confirm this?

You will come to appreciate this product with many bugs avoiding your plants.
Consider making a spray .
1 table spoon neem oil, 1 table spoon of dish soap in 1 liter of warm water.
Shake, mix and spray.
Especially under the leaves when possible.

what i meant was, putting neem oil in the water that your pouring into the pot. Is it really effective that way?
