I’ve noticed a significant decrease in how quickly my pots are drying up. They are well into bloom now. I was watering daily (coco coir) as the pots were drying up and needed it. Now it’s about every day and a half to two days. Does cannabis slow down it’s consumption of water/nutes in bloom?

Yeah.. I find that when my plants are fully matured and ready for chop they start drinking less it’s pretty common as far as I know. Supply and demand

I find when watering my seedling if I swish the water around in my mouth then dribble into the pots you get a better result and better accuracy.

Real productive input.. aw well school holidays are nearly over

@Beerhunter CDN during early and mid bloom my plants drink more than in veg.
Then during the last week or two they slow down

That's one way I tell when they are about ready for harvest. I know this is a bit late and you have probably done another harvest since then

That's a better ideal there... And to think all this time I was drinking the water then waiting to pee it back out on plants. That sounds much faster and easier.

:smoking: true dat, you aren't seeing things! I'm not sure exactly what the physiology is behind this, but I think during veg' in particular the transpiration rates are very high, moving both water and nutes more rapidly... more leaves made, more surface area transpiring, more roots/larger plant --> more uptake capacity, faster drying... rinse repeat -.... during later stages of bloom, this isn't happening much any more, plus older fan leaves begin to shut down; transpiration slows, then stops as the stomata close up for bizz; no need to take in CO2 for fixing into carbon on a leaf that's "retiring", nor is the water loss via open stomata happening. Even the chlorophyll is getting broken down, what mobile nutes are in those leaves are getting translocated to where they are needed....new smaller but more numerous fan/sugar leaves are still doing their thing of course, and certain nute demands are high, but as the buds mature and ripen more and more, that tapers off too... If you've noticed on many feed schedules, the last 1-2 weeks of feeds are reduced, prior to "flush",...
