Just curious what you all use when hand watering to minimize the soil/medium surface disturbance?

I have two watering cans. One with shower type head and one with spout. The shower type disturbs the soil less but is harder to get into smaller places. I have found the best way to go is just take it slow.

I was thinking this for organic grows when it's mostly just water.
Extend the hose so it will reach around my 3x3 and hang inside on the tent wall to stay warm.

Can you control flow on that? Flow rate is important if your trying not to disturb soil. If so I may want one! Hose may be to short so you may want to see how long it is and if it will reach where it needs to. I would get a piece of rope and hang one end where it would be and see just how long it would have to be to use the way i would want.

I'm thinking just modify the hose by adding longer tubing and add a variable rate valve to control flow.

A Mc320 hydro pump might do the job....it has flow rate adjustment as it's used in NFT systems and normally comes with an adaptor for slipping a bit garden hose over for when using it to flush out and refill reservoirs. The flow rate can be set to a trickle if required.

I use a 1L with spout. It forces me to pour slowly, and in small increments. And super easy to water with.

I use half gallon milk jugs. I bent a metal clothes hanger to work as a bottle hanger and hang the milk jug in the tent or closet. Then I use some of the spare small, clear air hose I had lying around from my earlier, hydroponics days as a siphon hose to water with. The hose is a small enough inner diameter that there isn't enough flow to disturb much.

I have just started use a 33 gallon trash can. Bought a $15.00 submersible pump from Amazon, and a 25 foot plastic hose. PH the water and water away. Sure made it a lot easier.
